my neighbor got engaged last week and her ring is soooo huge!!! over 2 carats, calarity and color are excellent..she said it was 23000...is that crazy or what!!!

I'm jealous too but when I get jealous over someones really large ring I say, oh well that's kind of gawdy I wouldn't want it anyway, and then I feel better!

I just think thats plain rude! my friend is just like that..I think people like that are marrying only for the money..for all of the wrong reasons!

I know! I was so shocked how many people asked me how much my ring cost. I honestly don't know what FH paid for it, and I don't want to know, I just saw the appraisal and that was by accident! But it made me really angry, it's none of their business!

i agree i was told and the fact that FH busted his tushy to buy it in cash makes it so much more special!! cuz i know he put alot of sweat and tears into getting the money together in one summer to get the ring for me to keep a promise he made in high school... (that he would propose at college graduation)

That's how I feel too! When I look at my ring, I see all the hours FH spent picking it out, excitedly showing my family behind my back, working extra shifts at work to pay for it, being so nervous about how to propose. . . all that is SOOOO much more important than how much it's worth. I'm not jealous of anyone's bigger ring, because they have no (sentimental) value to me.
But for the record - who goes around being all like, 'Hey, look at my 2 carat $23,000 ring! La la la!' So weird.
