I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on this war are. I go through phases where I am completely panicked, then when I don't worry so much because I can't control anything that happens. When I mention it to my family, they act like I am being dramatic. I just wanted to know how everyone else feels since I read JennBaby's post about the Knicks game. I think I would feel the same.

Yeah, it'd be a long, innapropriate one for me, as well.
I wouldn't worry about war in our area...I know that we have all been affected by 9/11...but I remember similar feelings from the 91 gulf war...and that there was CRAZY security at the superbowl (Giants won!)
my thoughts are that I'm upset...with the UN for not standing together...and with GWB...for being a warmonger...
but I truly think my life won't be affected (with the exception of gas prices)think back to Vietnam, Korea, even WWII...
...maybe I am naiive...but at least I'll be happy

Jennbaby, go the game. I felt the same way, abt my honeymoon remember. But I look at it this way now. If I go I will die doing what I wanted. If you stay home, whats the use. We die sometimes just going to work. 9/11 proved that.
I think its pathetic that the UN cant make a decison, no balls. Im ****ed, our men and woman always have to go and clean the **** for everyone else.

I don't worry about a full out war on our soil, I worry about things like suicide bombers and other incidents like 9/11. I also have no faith in our government right now and feel like there are so many people out there who hate us and want to bring harm to us, yet we are choosing to focus on a fight that GWB is trying to win because his father could not. I feel like it's an insult to all the lives lost on 9/11 to just turn and say, oh no, now it's Iraq, yet forget about the people who actually caused harm on our soil. I don't know, my feelings change everyday, heck, every few hours. But I'm more aggravated about the situation than anything else. I hate feeling helpless.

I am not for the killing of inncocent people, but I fel that we have no choice, if we don't do something to stop these mas men, then we will be the ones who die.

Wacky, I agree with you. We've been cleaning up everyone else's mess for years...and paying for it. Now is no exception, and France, Germany and all the other traitors will be back on our side in about a week when Iraq is a McDonalds.

I'm just saying, N. Korea is much more far along when it comes to sizing up threats. But then again, I am just a music teacher, not a current events speacialist. And, my opinion on the matter changes daily.

You're right.
However, the North Korean issue, from what I understand and correct me if I'm wrong, anyone... is more of an attempt by the North to garner attention....and therefore may be much less of a threat than the terrorist threat posed by Saddam.

Well, I do agree with that too. I just think I am misinformed on a lot of things, and just really aggravated because I have no faith in GWB. I just don't. No one will change my opinion on that one.

I have faith in the men & women in our military that are willing to lay their lives on the line for us. I know they will do whatever it takes to protect us and our way of life. I am truely gratefull for them and their families for raising their children to be true Americans and patriots.
I know life will be a little crazier here on the home front in the coming weeks. There will be more security and there will be more threats to our saftey. However, I am not afraid because I really believe we are doing the right thing and we are waging the good fight- with our without the UN who is more than happy to give Saddam third, forth.... fifteenth & sixteenth, etc chances to disarm.
We will all have to be more aware and not let anything get by us- meaning, if we see something we don't like, we need to report it no matter how silly it is.
