My SIL (who I am VERY close to) asked to come to our ultrasound on Monday (this is THE ultrasound where we hope to find out the sex). Anyway, I e-mailed her and told her the appointment is at 8:30, but we will be there by 8:15 and she should too because if they call us early we're going in. She wrote back and said 'couldn't you wait for me??' I mean - this is a HUGE deal and I don't want to be worried about whether she is late or anything else. I want to get in there and make sure everything is OK with the baby, etc. I wrote back and said that if they call us we can't exactly say 'we're not ready - we're waiting for a third party who isn't the mother or the father of this baby!' I basically said it's her call - she can get there on time or not, but we're not waiting. Am I being unreasonable?

Not unreasonable. Most dr offices won't wait anyway or else you get put to the back of the line....She should be on time.

Definetly not unreasonable - If she wants to be a part of this she will be on time - no questions asked.

No, you're not being unreasonable. But I wouldn't have said anything about the not waiting for thing though. I probably would've been like 'we'll try and wait' and then absolutely NOT wait.

Nope, not unreasonable at all!! I hope she doesn't expect the baby to wait to come out until she gets to the hospital, too!

Not at all unreasonable. I think it's unreasonable of her to think that everyone will WAIT for her. You know the madness in the doctors office 1st thing in the morning. Good luck!!

Any pregnant women who has to drink that much water will NOT wait one second longer than she has to. You NEED to go in when they call you...trust me I was dying each time to use the bathroom so there was NO delays allowed!

I definately agree with this. The only thing on my mind was going to the bathroom, so when they called me in, I practically jumped out of my chair. I wouldn't have waited for anybody at that point.
