I'm married with mini-review and non-pro pics
HI Everyone!
I got married on Memorial Day Monday 5/25. The day was AMAZING!!! The weather was perfect, everyone looked great, we all had an amazing time and time flew by faster than I could have ever imagined. :) Here is a mini review I'll give a better one in the near future:
Bridal Reflections:(Massapequa). A I purchased my bridal gown there as well as my brides maids dresses. They were amazing the service was outstanding. The alterations were perfect, a bit costly, but i lost 16 lbs so they had to do a lot of alterations. As you can see, it was an intericate dress. The bridesmaid dresses came in early and they were nice enough to mail them to my bridesmaids in VA and IL. I also purchased my jewerly there, They have such a great selection.
Barrons @ Tri-County Flea Market: A
I took a sample veil from bridal reflections and had Barrons replicate it for me. It was identical andd perfect...plus a 1/4 of the cost! Score. I spent my savings on my jewerly! :)
OLPH (lindenhurst): A++ This church took me in after St. Martin in Amityville wouldn't marry us on a holiday. Pre-cana was great. Father Stan was also great, our mass that monday was just as we dreamed. He is such a spritual man and the mass showed it.
Patken Photography; (Lindenhurst). A+++++We had Kevin as our photographer and Mike as our videographer. Words cannot describe how amazing Kevin was! We have a crazy Italian family and he was able to organize us for photos like a pro. I know our photos will be amazing! Big, Big kudos to him.
DJ: LI Sound (With Chris as MC Gene as a vocalist). They were amazing. The music rocked all night, the lights were just right, and they through in the 'zap shots' plasma TV's for free! Chris MC at the perfect level. The singer Gene (I forgot his last name) sang Sinatra songs during dinner, he got a round of applause. Amazing!
Reception Hall: Jericho Terrace (Mineola) A++++++++With Mike P as our Maitre' D. I am still getting amazing comments about JT and the food there. We were in the skylight room. It was pefect. We were treated like royalty! The service was top-notch. The food was to die for and the place is gorgous! They upgraded our cocktail our to the larger garden room and the threw us the chocolate fountain for the veinese hour. We were blessed with an amazing day and the pictures outside were ideal! And I have to say the cake there was so good, I never had a wedding cake so yummie!! :) Every detail cared for. The bridal assistants were so attentive and every single person there made you feel like a queen. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves!!
Florist: Pedestals: B (Garden City Park) We worked with Phylis. Flowers were not high on my list, in my opinion, it is hard to make flowers look bad, so we didn't go crazy, but they worked with our budget. We had tall glass vases with lilly's, iris' and willow branches with white rose petals & candels around the base. Simple & elegant. My bouquet was perfect and the girls bouquets were great. The grooms and groomsmen bouteneers were a little wilted, but nothing we could do about it then. The reason why this vendor gets a B was for the service. Phylis was a little pushy and I had to repeat myself many times to tell her what i wanted. I insisted on pink roses for the groomsmen and she kept pushing ivory...The day of the wedding I wasn't surpirsed to see ivory roses not pink. A small price to pay considering the rest of the flowers were perfect. They are also preserving my bouquet for me. (not cheap by the way!!)
Limo: Camelot (Joe & Frankie!) A+++ When meeting Joe, I knew right off the bat we made the best choice. Very peronable and listen to what you wanted, never pushy. I found him on here. He worked with our budget and the cars showed up early! Frankie drove us in a 64 Rolls, it was perfect and the champagne was ice cold! :) They were both so sweet and great to work with. You HAVE to use them!!
Hair: Bocara: (Wantaugh). A. I found her through a friend and she opened the store for us that monday. She was the only vendor that was cost more to use on a Monday. You have to remember that not only are Salons closed on Monday, they close for Holidays too!. It was hard to find a Salon, But i'm glad I found her. She did an amazing job on me and all the girls. Even the moms! Thank you Carol, Cindy and AnneMarie!!!
Make up: (Tina Esposito) A++++++ My cousin and maid-of-honor is also a make up artist. And she is truly and artist, she made me look like a hollywood star! We all looked amazing. I love you tina! She does other weddings if anyone is interested! FM me!
Honeymoon: St. John and Virgin Gorda (Rosewood Resorts). A+++++++++If you wanted to get treated like Royalty, think about these 2 resorts as a perfect escape. Just like Hawaii without the long flight and mobs of people. It was heaven on earth!
All the others things are small. We got our Favors in Italy and my mom brought those over, I purchased my shoes at Sandy's in Massapequa, they did a great job! I got my nails done in Amy's Nails in Holtsville, A++ (Thank you kelly). I lost 16 lbs with Weight watchers and my gym at work. A big thank you Rebecca and her classes! To Zazzle.com for all the sitckers I ordered, A! A+ to Candels.com.
and last, but not least...
LI.com. A++++++ I haven't been a huge active member on this website, but I always read everything. I found so many vendors on here and learned so much. Thank you ladies for being such a support group, even if you didn't know about it. I will miss this website, but I have a feeling I will always check in. Please FM me if you have any vendor questions, but all my vendors were amazing!! Thank you for helping me plan the most perfect wedding!!
Now I have to learn how to change my name at the Social Security!
To all the rest of the 09' brides..GOOD LUCK!!!
love ya
