I haven't even priced any DJ's yet so I don't even know how expensive they are. Did you get a quote from Starlight?

on average I have heard as low as 2000- 3700...AVERAGE....THere are definately plenty more that charge less or way more, but with a base package, mc and some extrasm, that has been the average pricing i have seen floating around on here.....I have heard starlight express, in the mood, long island sound are all amazing, but call them directly. So many places bop there prices around a bit, so it is heard to get anything set until you call for your specific time and date

If you are getting married in Staten Island Nicotra's (i'm not sure if there is more than one Nicotra's), I have to recommend my DJ.

www.ultimate-dj.com

He's Phenominal!!! My fiance and I booked our wedding date around his availabiltiy. He is also an extremely good friend of ours, however, that is NOT the reason we booked him. We have been to several weddings (including one at Nicotra's in July) that he worked and I have only heard great things being said about him. He is a good cross between a DJ and a Band. It really depends on what you are looking for. He also has 2 singers, 2 sax players, a pianist for ceremony and/or cocktail hour, a bongo player and a drumist (not like real drums, but hand drums and cymbals). My fiance and I booked 1 singer, 1 sax player and the drumist. We would have booked the pianist but we are getting married at Nanina's in the Park and its not necessary. Anyway, he is really worth checking out, you CAN NOT go wrong with him. If you do speak to him, tell him Amanda recommended you. He's a great guy, he lives in Staten Island and his name is Ron. If you decide to book him, let me know so i can congratulate you on a GREAT choice.

Good Luck!!

Thanks! I am very happy with my Nanina's choice. We both live in staten island but i was looking for a place in northern nj b/c my family is from upstate ny so it would make it easier for them travel wise.

If you need any other help or recommendations with things, i.e. video, photos, limos, i would be more than happy to tell you what i know.
