I'm new..and need help..
Hello everyone!! I'm new here, and after reading a few posts I can tell this is a great site!
Sooo here goes my dilemma..My FH and I have been engaged since July 2012. We decided to do a short engagement and are getting married in May 2013. Planned on having a small( haha yea right) informal back yard wedding with family and friends. I was planning on ordering invitations THIS week and my FFIL decides to have a 'talk' with my FH and long story short comes up with the idea that instead of a wedding we should get married by a justice of the peace (what we were going to do anyways) at Town Hall and then he (FFIL)would send us away for a week. All expenses paid for by him.
Now a bit of background..My FH and I both have 2 sets of parents, so 4 sets of siblings, cousins etc..And some of these people do not get along..At all. As in can not be in the same room. I was hoping..praying..that maybe I could still get away with having the wedding I wanted without the drama but it looks like I might not be able to and if I just don't invite these certain individuals it would be really bad. And I really just don't want to deal with it or them.
Sooo my question is what is everyone's honest opinion? Would you take your FFIL up on his offer or just do what you had planned and hoped for the best? I'm really struggling with this so any help/advice would be appreciated!!!!!!
