After lots and lots of thinking about whether I would be comfortable seeing FH before the ceremony, I thought I convinced myself to be okay with it. But IM NOT! After reading Fall Bride's post about the gripefest (one of the guests said it was anticlimactic when the bride came down the aisle) I dont know anymore My ceremony is at the RH and we dont have a gap and I know if we dont take pics before, well miss the cocktail hour and force our bridal party to miss out on some of it too. But my dream was always to be seen for the first time on the aisle. WHAT SHOULD I DO?! Maybe I can have my photographer take pics with the bridal party and parents before and then FH and I will take the pics after the ceremony. Thomas Paul is so quick, so maybe it wont be a problem.

I think whichever decision you make- it will still somehow work out in your favor. If you decide to take pictures together afterwards you said your photographer is amazing & fast I'm sure he will get it done without cutting into anything else- also if you end up taking the pics together before the ceremony your FH is going to be swept away no matter what and will see be swept away again seeing you walk down that aisle

I do have a gap, so we will not be missing CH--but def have the photographer take as many as he can before the ceremony, that way it will really just be the 2 of you after, and maybe you can tell them that you don't want to miss CH and they can think of a way that you can make even half of it

i agree - you should do what you feel more comfortable doing....we wanted to have time to take as many pictures as possible and we want to enjoy our cocktail hour and reception without being pulled for pictures so we decided that seeing eachother before the ceremony was ok....FH also saw me try on dresses too so i guess we are very untraditional
but do what feels right for the both of you.....it will be fine either way!

Hey theres nothing wrong with being untraditional! I love that FH went with you! He still hasnt seen you all done up in your dress. Hair, mae-up, and all so it will still be a surprise!

I showed DH pictures of my gown when I bought it, so I am untraditional as well!
We spent about 2 hours taking pics total - like 45 minutes alone, 45 minutes with family and BP, and then like 15 minutes after the ceremony.

I'm in the same position. Of course I'd love to have FH see me for the first time walking down the aisle, but we are getting married at our RH and I think taking pictures before is better than the alternatives: missing the cocktail hour, or having a big gap before the reception (we have lots of OOT guests and it can be a huge inconvenience)
Our photographer is going to set up a special situation for us to see eachother for the first time. most of the people in the pictures will have seen me get ready anyway (BMs, MOB, etc)
edit: walking down the aisle will still be special, and i dont plan for 'regular' guests to see us beforehand

That's a good idea. Talk to TP to see what he suggests.

Im definitely going to. He already mentioned how we should get it over before and he would set up a special moment but he's also very easy to work with and IM sure he wont have a problem with what I decide. He took our e-pics in no more than 45 mins and got beautiful shots.

Re: Im not okay with it after all!
sorry to crash, but the halls I am looking at have photo studios, would it be possible to get the groom and grooms men shots and the bride and bridesmaid shots done before the ceremony, separate from where teh guests are, so it limits the shots the bridal party is in during the CH, and also limits the shots needed for you and FH before you can join the cocktail hour?

I dont mind the crashers! lol I dont think JT has a seperate photo studio. I was thinking about doing my pics with my BMS and his pics with his GMs beforehand to get those out of the way before the ceremony. That way after the ceremony the photog would only have to do FH and I.

Re: Im not okay with it after all!
JT I dont believe does, but it should be large enough to get FH out of the way, or he is taking pictures outside while you are in the lobby, or he is in the upstairs ceremony room, while you take pictures in the lobby or outside on the bridge (thinking of where I saw when I went there)
