Yes... unless they're a house vendor then they usually eat for free.

omg am i the only one that thinks this is ridiculous? so basically they are included in the guest list then...do they need their own table too?
Sorry but this is news to me..

Ask your BM. It varies based on the halls. Some halls, reccomended vendors eat free or half priced. Other halls all vendors are half price.

Think of it this way...do you really want your DJ, MC, photographer, videographer and DOC (or whatever vendor(s) you are using, obviously) to be handling your event on an empty stomach?
Check with your hall on what their policy is.

LOL of course I don't want them to be starving...It's just not something I realized until now so it caught me off guard...i really have to call the BM and ask how they do it

You are not alone. I think it's ridiculous, they should be working not eating! I am cheap so I want to work something out with my hall. I am going to blatantly persuade/hint to all my vendors to go to the CH and stock up on food hahaha.

the way my hall does it is that the house vendors eat for free and all other vendors are half the price. i understand that this must happen but it gets crazy when your photo/video is like 3 people alone..it all adds up!

yeah, they are usually free or half priced! Thats the benefits of using house vendors sometimes - my house vendors eat free... the others i have to pay 1/2 price for!

My friend told me that her photog had mentioned to her that they feed them no matter what so to fib a little on the #. Have you girls heard of that??? So I guess if you have 4 people for the DJ say 2 or 3.

Yes they have to be fed. Ask your rh what the fee is. Mine is charging us half price for vendors

JAAMS Posted:

Re: I'm not paying you to eat

Yes, definitely. I can't imagine not feeding them - they are there for you. Some halls charge 1/2 price, some free. Check with your hall.

yes, usually the rh will let you do it during the ch or youll have to pay 1/2 price after guarantee is met
