You are not alone. I think it's ridiculous, they should be working not eating! I am cheap so I want to work something out with my hall. I am going to blatantly persuade/hint to all my vendors to go to the CH and stock up on food hahaha.

it's not that i expect them not to be fed..I just didn't know before and the thought of adding more to the reception just caught me off guard because I'm trying to cut down as it is!

I'm actually surprised they didn't let you know this when you signed the contract - ours had all that information in it and they went over everything in detail

I agree....You didn't hear your RH say how much it is for vendors???? At NRC, recommended vendors eat free, outside vendors are 1/2 price.

In our RH, the vendors are included half price unless they are a house vendor. Our vendors will be eating in a separate room.

Absolutely not! How would you feel if someone was with you 10 hours + (photog/video,etc)....they should go hungry???

like someone else said, once you meet your guaranteed, i think the hall charges you half price.

you should ask you BM because when i asked mine he told me that when they ask if we are feeding the vendors just say no. because there is always extra food & that way we don't get stuck paying for it.

You don't have to feed them. Most RH don't charge for house vendors and 1/2 price for non in house vendors. When you book with your vendors discuss it with them before hand. They can eat all they want at the cocktail hour for free.

IMO I don't think its rude not to feed them. I work all day and no one provides meals for me. I think you pay enough at a wedding that adding the cost of your vendors food is insane

i'm so with you on this one. i don't want to sound insensitive but it's just ridiculous that i have to pay extra seat on my wedding for the vendor services (that already costs a lot)!

do they have to eat the same food as the guests? i was thinking of having them (band, or photographer, etc) use my bridal suite where i'll have take out food delivered for them.

I agree with you. The photographers are the only ones who will be with me all day and they have plenty of time to eat throughout the day.
I wish I got fed AND given a tip when I worked.

I WILL feed my vendors, but it is a courtesy not a necessity.
