I'm offically.....

UMEMPLOYED Well the NYC Dept of Ed is doing mass layoffs for teacher's assistants ad they offered us other postions in a special eduaction district (75). So I took the positon and the first day a kid *********ed in front of me, twice. I was also told by two other kids that I look like a nice piece of a$$!!!!!!!! So I quit! The thing that ****s most about this situation is I am a certified teacher, waiting for a position. So needless to say there won't be anymore wedding planning unitl I find a new job. I have a few interviews lined up, so please keep your fingers crossed

Jillian, would you consider private school until you are called back by the BOE? You can check out Lutheran or Catholic or Independent schools.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. As a NYC teacher, I see that the Department of Education is doing a horrible job with everything this year!!! They can't place the teachers they have in the system and there are schools who are desperately in need of teachers. Don't even get me started on huge class sizes and the fact that our school is close to exceeding the fire code limit because the Regional office still insists on sending new students to our school. This is the worst beginning to the school year I've seen in the ten years I've been in the system.

i work for a grou that works with the school systems and it is crazy wha they are doingthis year! sorry to hear about your job! i amnsure everything will work out! as was mentioed before, maybe you can look into teachign in catholic schools or other religious schools - i know the catholic diocese in brookly,queens is hurting for teachers...
