nope...she said she'd rather me resign than her fire me so at least I can stay on as a sub or get transferred to another school in the area...

Why would she have fired you??? And, I think that you should talk to an attorney about what happened and how poorly the director handled the situation!

This isn't totally true - you can still apply for unemployment - plead your case and see if they will give it to you. We have had employees quit - give us a resignation letter - and STILL are able to collect unemployment - it makes me mad, but in your case I think it is totally different!

I TOTALLY agree!! Given the situation, what grounds did she have to fire YOU!!?? If anything, the idiot B!OTCHES should have been removed or reprimanded, (at the very least) for making you work in a hostile environment! Definitely look into what your rights are - and GO FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT!!
