so i decided i would be a nice bride and let my girls pick their own dresses...i just told them what length, colors, and styles i liked. i liked tea length, light summer colors with a sheer overlay. i did this so that they would get dresses that fit their bodies, showed their individuality and fit their budgets. one got hers for another wedding and spent a lot of money (but it was a dress i looooved...watters), then another we found at filenes basement for $30, another had hers at loehmanns for $60, but one still doesn't have a dress...38 days to go and she still doens't have a friggin dress!!! she lives on the west coast, so it doesn't help that i can't do much...so anyway, yesterday, fmil and i go shopping and we find the $30 dress that another girl had liked, and since they had three sizes, i bought all three hoping that the one on the west coast will say yes and that the other girl will say yes too and then i'd have three girls in the same dress and my moh in her own. i don't think it is going over too well...anyway, sorry for venting but this isn't a friggin clambake, it is my wedding!!!

Re: I'm ready to kick some a$$
i think your first mistake was telling yr girls that they can pick whatever they want. this is JMO, keep in mind. i thought that at first, yes, my wedding is far off, but i know that my moh ( my sis) is picking the dresses. i hope it works out for you, just hang in there b/c now there is not much you have control over.

I let my girls pick out their own dresses, but I told them to go to David's bridals. I told them I did not care what style it was as long as the color was Lilac. It worked out fine. Everyone brought a dress they liked and could afford. I believe your mistake is telling them to get their own dresses and now towards the end you are changing your mind. Don't let it stress you it all will work itself out. Did the BM on the west coast get her airline ticket yet?

Sorry to hear that!!! I was just in a similar situation, I wanted my BM's to be happy w/ their dresses, so I said 'pick you own'- BIG mistake! It's all settled now & I won't bore you w/ the details, but please take my advice- put your foot down & tell them how it is! After all, it's YOUR wedding!!! Good Luck, hope it's resolved soon.

Maybe, when all is said and done, you will 'accidentally' trip her on the dance floor. That would be a shame...

you were very nice to let the girls pick out their dresses... but you gotta know its human nature to delay and procrastinate (sp?)
