I'm sad..excited...and anxious!

Sorry to vent to you girls, but who else can I turn to?

As some of you know, I'm moving. Well, I gave notice at my job last week and officially resigned. My last day here will be sometime in March. Fine. Because my boss is leaving on maternity leave in two weeks, they want her to interview my replacement and because my job 'can really only be done well by you' they want me to train my replacement. Fine. But they're posting it next week, so everyone will know I'm leaving...and all the questions will start. And the hiring and training will be sometime in February. Life moves on...

I love this company...it's great (hence why I was so damn PC and gave a lot of notice). Well, it ain't so great, but it was a dream of mine since I was young. I know I'm leaving for a better life, but I can't help but feel so sad and empty.

Now, if only I could get a job in GA from here I would feel much better. LOL.

This was a rambling post so please forgive me...I'm feeling heavy hearted & melancholy.

Oh no Sasha sorry you are feeling sad. I know this is a huge change for you and it will be hard. But you will get through it. Sending you some hugs!

Sasha, I hope I can give you half as much advice and help as you have given me.

of course you know it's always hard to leave and start life 'anew' especially when there are parts of the old life that were just fine or even great. leaving a job you love is very difficult b/c, like finding a partner to love, it doesn't happen very often. there is always the fear that you won't like the next one as much.

but life my dear has a way of being very funny. the right job is going to find you when you least expect it, and any reservation you have about leaving will soon be forgotten.

new marriage, new life, new home, new job....75% of those things are wonderful right now.....even if you don't get that 'perfect' job right away...look how much you have to look forward to when you get home!

friends of mine moved to Atlanta after college and knew no one. they were nervous, but they persevered and created a wonderful life for each other down there. they met people, have jobs they really like, own a home, and I am attending the baby shower for their first child this weekend here in NY. it wasn't always easy...but the outcome is more than they could EVER ask for....

your's will be the same, I am sure...and it will of course be all that you deserve, and MORE.

Moving is difficult and I've done it a few times myself, so I understand. Change is sometimes scary, but I'm sure you have a wonderful new life waiting for you and your DH

Sasha...it's such a big move any of us would feel the same way. It's the unknown and such a big change from what you're used to. In time things will come together. God puts us only in positions he knows we can overcome. I bet he has something in store for you that will be bigger and better than what you're doing now.

aww Sasha, I know how you feel... sort of. I have left a job that I liked very much but had to leave b/c there were no opportunities to advance.

I know it's a HUGE change and it is perfectly natural to be nervous about it. But I have to say, you are doing the right thing.

It's definitely difficult making changes like you are doing but hopefully in the end things will be even better!!!

OH Sasha- I send you nothing but hugs! I remember how scared I was to leave NY but looking back, I love my life in CA so much I can't imagine living anywhere else. You are just in the hard part- saying good-bye, packing up, letting go- its sooooo hard. So if you ever need to vent, just let me know.

Lana - no, this (NY) is the jewelry 'center' of the world pretty much, so once I leave I either have to work retail (which I won't) or find another career.

The good thing is that I go back to college this summer...so I have that to look forward to. I've no idea why I'm so sad.

Sasha, this is a big grown up step you are taking toward your future. It doesn't take away from who you are. NY will always be here, it's not going anywhere.

You've had quite a year. Getting married and moving are two tremendous steps. Not everyone has the chance to experience both of these. Starting in a new location is scary, but you are still you and your DH is still your DH-Nothing changes except your locale. You know, we will always be here cheering you on.

Chin up woman, you are healthy, happy, and blessed with love all around you.
