I'm so depressed

I have been looking for a job for 2 months and I can't find anything. I've tried craigslist, monster,careerbuilder and nothing. It doesn't help that I'm a recent college graduate with a bs major. Even for office assitant jobs they want like 4 years experience and the pay is like 10$. ***?
I just want to cry

It is very hard right now..... but keep trying and the perfect job will find you soon enough!

Please don't get down. It's a really hard time to graduate in this economy, but you can't give up. Honestly, 2 months isn't a long time to look for a job - in a good economy!

My suggestion to you would be to broaden your search a little. Consider part-time or temp-to-hire jobs as well as full-time. Eventually the economy will turn around, but in the meantime, there are other jobs out there. Just try to keep your resume active and something will work out.

I was having alot of trouble too, its also hard when alot of companies have a hiring freeze so don't feel bad. Its just a bad time and with the unemployment rate so high, you are competing against too many people.

I decided to change up my resume and make it even better. Once I did this I started getting responses and had interviews last week and have this week. And let me say that i've been looking for more than 2 months and just now getting interviews but the resume change I think helped out alot. Just remember that you are competing with more people than usual so you have to make your resume stand out amongst the tons of resumes they do receive.

On career builder they even show you if just a few ppl have applied to a job by highlighting in blue and let me just say that VERY few are highlighted in blue which means most job postings are getting a high volume of responses.

Have you tried looking into medical/dental office staff? My friend just graduated in May and now works for the pediatric cardiology dept as an AA doing insurance billing, clearance, etc. She's making $54K and they are paying for her masters.

Try your college alumni assoc - they can help with placement.

I agree with the others.. a Temp job is not a bad idea.. and it can always turn perm.. I started as a temp and its 4 yrs later and lost of promotions! Try it.. there are some very good Agencys!!

even temp jobs are hard to find. I went to 4 recruiters and most don't even have many temp jobs available. Even some girls who said they used to temp all the time for a certain recruiter, all of a sudden haven't heard from them in 1-2 months.

yeah its pretty bad. I did have 2 interviews last week and i have 2 this week so luckily theres still some places hiring. But definitely is alot harder to find a job now than it was in the past.

I picked the worst time to quit, but i was supposed to move in june and my commute to jersey was already 2 hours and i couldnt add a decent amount of time to that. Of course I come back from HM and everything is delayed and only just happening and moving first week of december instead. This economy is screwing me up in quite a few ways lol. With a closing taking FOREVER and now finding a job If they wouldn't have told me definitely middle of june for closing then i would've stayed longer at my job and be able to look while i was moving

yea i picked a bad time to quit as well. i guess i have to keep on earching. But that' why i'm getting frustrated because we have a wedding to pay for and we are lookign to buy something. And everythign i so expensive. I guess i'm having one of those days

I know it is hard but it will work out in time.

Maybe you can even work in retail for the holidays to get some great discounts and cash in the meantime!
