Today is just one of those days that I hate my fargin job!! I work for a cancer hospital (Memorial Sloan Kettering) and let me just tell you that it ***** working here!! Besides the patients stalking me for appointments as if I have control over when the doctors are/aren't avaialble, we have to deal with management talking about 'our numbers are low' I mean seriously ..is this a hospital where we actually CARE about the patients..or is it a business where we only want $$? I can't believe they use words like that when it comes to cancer. My father died of cancer and I HATE that I feel like there is a cure out there but it will NEVER be put out because it's such a money maker. I'd rather be w/out a job and have a cure for cancer than work here having to hear the crap that I hear and having patients yell at me because a doctor is not available when they want it. I swear..I hate this place!!

I feel for you. I understand what is like to work for a place that makes you feel that it is all about the numbers and that we should take care of our customers needs and yet do nothing to assist us to make that an attainable goal.... I hope that you feel better ..... soon..... Smile.... I care.

I know how you feel. I use to work for a company that was all about the bottom $$$$. I HATED it.
My dad passed away from cancer too and I know exactly how you feel. I can't get the tought out of my head that there is a cure....but it all goes back to the bottom $$$.
I mean they can put a man on the moon but they can't find a cure for cancer????

sorry.... I had a friend who worked there as a nurse and she loved it.... unfortunately, a hospital is a business - without money, it wouldn't be able to stay open and provide services to patients. if you don't like your job then why don't you look for another?

I have and it's not that easy to find a job these days but I will continue my search.
