I'm so happy with the company that I ordered my platter from!

I just received an e-mail from the owner of the company saying that she was shocked that the platter slipped thru the cracks of quality control in the way that it did! (LIZLEN knows my concern over this whole thing - I gave it to her last night!) Anyway, she promised me that she was going to paint it HERSELF & follow it thru the glazing process herself!!!

I'm interested in getting a platter as well, instead of a guest book. My FI disagrees. Did you have to convince your FI to get this platter? If so, how did you do it?

yeah right... i just bought it.... but if this will help - this is my thinking! if you want to have a guest sign in book, yeah, you'll look at it a few times, get nostalgic reminiscing, and that's great, but where is it going to end up - in the back of the closet on the floor in a box..... this way you can have it out everyday of the year - display it, serve on it, etc.

That's the same reason I want to get it. I know that a traditional guest book will just get put in the closet and never looked at again. This way, I can use it or if I don't want to use it, display it. I think it's a great idea.

Wooohooo, I just showed it to Peter and he likes it!! I'm going to order it (not now but in a few months)

P.S. I won't tell him, but even if he didn't care for it, I would've gotten it anyway. He wouldn't even notice anyway
