I'm so nervous about going to work tomorrow!!- UPDATE!

I was offered a promotion at work, which should be a no brainer to take it since it's roughly 10K more which will definitely be put to good use paying for this wedding....but I'm so worried that it's going to be more challenging/stressful, and I was really hoping to coast for the next 4 months before the wedding!! I have to give them a decision tomorrow, and I just feel like if I pass it up, I may not get this opportunity again.....it will also involve me commuting to Jersey City everyday from Howard Beach (right now I work in the financial district), so it adds another 15-20 minutes on each way.

I just need to vent my anxiety and get some hugs so I'm not a nervous wreck tomorrow! I hate negotiating and all that. wish me luck!

Helen!! Here are lots of and for you sweetie!! You will do fine tomorrow. If I were in your shoes, [and not moving to Suffolk!] then I would take it! Take the leap! You'll have more visibility with the higher ups and the added time is not really that much! You can do this!! Good luck!!

thank you so much!! yeah I need to have more faith in myself! I just hope these people are not expecting me to move mountains before my wedding!! Actually what's funny is I asked them about flexibility w/ my schedule and they actually said to me, don't worry you can take time off for doctor's appts, wedding stuff etc. LMAO!! I guess they knew what I was getting at!

Are the people just as nice over in Jersey? How is the office? Comfortable? Cafeteria? Would you have your own office? Is it/or other desk space comfy? Weigh all of the options! You are smart, competent, personable and great at your job! They would not have extended you the offer if you weren't fabulous!!! Remember that!

Congrats on the promotion offer!!!! I totally feel you about wanting to not be too crazy before the wedding, but it sounds like a great opportunity! The commuting thing suc*ks but hopefully it won't be too bad.

office- I'll have an awesome view across from Manhattan (since its the first building on the water when you get off the ferry)- it's nice b/c I'll be on the 19th floor, right now I have no windows and no view!

the people are nice- but there's definitely one weirdo in the department....but at least maybe I can look like employee of the month next to him

it's definitely comfortable (except for low cubicle walls- the inventor of those should be shot!

cafeteria is great, which is good since there's jack sh*t near this building!! that much I will def. miss from being in the financial district

If I were you- I would go for it.

Push yourself a little and I think it will pay off in the end. Also, I think most bosses will understand that you have a wedding in only four months and they will take that into consideration that you have a lot on your plate.

The money increase is great and it's a good opportunity so give it your best shot!

You can always go back to doing what you were doing after and admit that it just wasn't for you, right?
