I'm so shaken up...

I'm so shaken up...

I'm in tears right now.

This morning I was coming off the exit ramp from the Meadowbrook Parkway and a bird flew in front of my car so fast that I hit it...

It was like slow motion but so fast I couldnt react. So I see the bird fly in front of me... i hear a THUMP and the bird just drifting upwards and on his way down hit my car AGAIN and fell off to the side..

I feel so AWFUL!! I know it wasn't my fault, but I just can't believe what I saw... I'm just hoping the poor little thing died right away instead of laying on the side of the road suffering.

Suffice to say, this is NOT a good way to start the morning =(((

aww that stinks...I'm always afraid of hitting animals...I'd probably have nightmares for weeks

But I just don't get it with birds...they can fly, so there is really no excuse for them to be hit by cars...kind of stupid,

I think what creeped me out so much was that it hit my car and then in slow motion just drifted upwards for at LEAST 2 seconds and then landed on my car (in motion) again... so it was like painful to watch

OMG!!! I am so sorry. I actually had the same thing happen to me last thursday i was on the service road to the LIE and the bird came out of nowhere I felt so bad.

there was absolutely NOTHING you could have done to avoid it. It's unfortunate, but things like that happen.

Be thankful it wasnt a deer. My FH lost a friend of his a month back when his SUV overturned trying to avoid a deer on the highway.

Just be thankful that you are ok. The bird, I'm sure, was transported easily to 'birdy heaven.'

Have a cup of tea, and try to calm your nerves.

That has happened to me before..I was driving on a bridge and had no where to go and I saw the bird, well seagull.

I know how you feel though, I hate hitting animals even if there was no a thing you could do to prevent it.
