I'm so upset...UPDADTE at bottom

I'm so upset...UPDADTE at bottom

I am a VERY nervous person by nature - a HUGE worrier. DH is basically the opposite. I am 26.5 weeks now. At 12 weeks I had a pap smear and bled and it scared the cr&p out of me so I went in to make sure all was well. At 20 weeks I had pains in my side - again, I went in. (even then DH made me feel like I was crazy). Anyway, now at 26 weeks I am worried because I feel like I am feeling the baby move a lot less. Last week she was moving all the time and this week I feel like I am feeling her less -- and weaker when I do feel her. I called my doctor and she said to come in for an ultrasound. DH is FURIOUS with me - he is acting like I am doing something wrong on purpose and that I am causing undue stress to myself and the baby. I don't know what to do - I have felt her move, so everything is probably OK, but I feel like something is different and I'm worried. Is it totally abnormal to go in for 3 unscheduled visits by the time I am 27 weeks along? I'm so sad - I wish I wasn't like this, and that DH was more supportive. Honest opinions please...

My DH is kind of the same way, he doesn't get mad but he kind of brushes my concerns off as paranoia. I think it's harder for them to understand because they probably don't read and know as much as we do and they also don't understand what carrying the baby is like and how easy it is to worry when all these things are going on with your body.

I definitely understand being nervous. I had 2 ultrasounds in the beginning because I was so worried about a missed miscarriage. Now I just go to my regualar appointments and have the heartbeat checked with the doppler but man waiting 4 weeks is so hard. My midwife is great though and told me I can come in anytime for a HB check (I opted not to rent a doppler for fear not being able to find the HB at home would send me over the edge). I still have 9 days until my BIG ultrasound and that is sheer agony not knowing if my baby is OK or not. Of course all our tests came back normal but I still worry.

Hang in there and be glad your doctor lets you come in to ease your mind, I think that is more important than anything.

Who said being preggo was easy?? I think your feelings are valid, I worry about everything also, its normal, especially this being the first time that you are going through this! I think your Dh needs to ease up on you, but then again, my DH doesn't understand either. I'm gald that you have a doctor that will let you come in and check you whenever you are worried.
You are totally normal to be feeling the way you do!

You are not alone! My DH thinks I 'over react' all the time...I agree with the other women that said that the guys have no idea what it's like to carry a child around inside you. It's scary and you want to make sure everything is alright.

Although he may get upset, I think you are doing the right thing. Just tell him that it's better to be safe than sorry...

Sorry you are going through this.. I'm sure your little one is ok.

My DH worries about everything in relation to this pregnancy. I try not to alarm him I have an ache or pain, I turn to you ladies for advise or call Dr.

I don't think you're overreacting at all... I think it's normal for first time mommie to be slightly paranoid (and I'm one of them!). The good thing is you have a Dr. who is sensitive to that, and I'm sure he/she will tell you they get this alllllllllllll the time. I have the opposite problem - my DH is super, super paranoid! He won't let me carry anything, garden for too long, walk for too long, yells at me for wearing heels, makes me eat all this icky healthy food for the baby, and absolutely FREAKS everytime I get any kind of stretching pain. He always makes me tell him how bad the pain is on a scale from 1-10, and of course, I always lie a little because I know all is ok, but I don't want to freak him out by letting him know how much it really hurts sometimes

You are not over reacting at all. Bleeding during pregnancy = a call to your doctor everytime. and feeling a decrease in movement is something to tell your doctor about. I think your husband needs to stop his anger and just accept that you need reassurance from your doctor. There is NOTHING wrong with that. IMO, NOT calling the doctor when you think something is not exactly okay is worse!

Re: I'm so upset...

I think you;re being very responsible by being so in tuned to what is going on wiht you and your baby. I;'d be more concerned if I read you were having these symptoms and were blowing them off. It;s a scary time, I think we all do it.
And yes, the husbands cannot relate, I was bleeding at week 18 and we were at dinner in Manhattan, my parents packed up the kids, and dinner and we rushed to the car and my Dad sped home, I literally could not even remember which route we took home and felt like I would vomit due to nerves, my husband was FAST ASLEEP in the back seat, SNORING!! I wanted to kick his a$$. Then when we got to the ER, I was a mess and he was happy that we were put in a private room so that he could watch the Contender! My Mom almost had to hold me back, I was gonna start throwin'.
I'm sure everyhting is fine, it may be getting cramped in there and she can't move around as much.

Re: I'm so upset...

I now have a 4mth old healthy girl. Around 25 weeks I freaked out too for the same reason - thought she wasn't moving as much so I called my doc - she told me that was normal cause when the baby gets bigger, she doesn't have as much room to move around - and some days, they're just lazy and don't move as much. Just like adults!! I'm sure it will be fine.

Thank you so much ladies! I went to the doctor and DH came with me and he was trying to be supportive. Anyway, we had an ultrasound and the baby looks great - it was just nice to see. We think she changed positions in a way that I can't feel her as easily. Anyway, thanks for your support and making me feel like I'm NOT CRAZY!!

My DH does the same thing. He likes to make me feel like my worries are no big deal. When I started getting itchy and read that it could possibly cholestasis and I mentioned it to DH, he LAUGHED at me and told me to stop reading things on the internet. Of course, he changed his tune a bit once we found out that I DID have it, but still. I don't think anybody should doubt you if you have any bad feelings about your pregnancy. It's YOUR body and you know what feels right and wrong. Besides, it's much better to be safe than sorry.

My FH made me feel like I was crazy...when I told him that I thought my water broke...I was only 25 weeks preggo, and it didnt gush out....it just kinda leaked out slowly.
I called the doc anyway and they told me to get to the hospital immediatly. Im very lucky I didn't listen to Ken and went on my instinct.
Ken told me that from now on he will trust my motherly instincts...because he realizes that he doesn't have them.
