so i asked my FH to try and schedule my first fitting for me when my mom comes up for my shower (i dont know when my shower is, so thats why i cant call myself to schedule it) - keep in mind my mom HAS NOT seen my dress in person because she lives in florida, she has only seen photos of me in it, plus she sews so i really wanted her around when the seamtress looked at the dress because its so big on me....
my FH just called me and he was like, i have bad news - he told me that he tried scheduling my fitting for the weekend that my mom will be here - but macys (this is demetrios in macys menlo NJ) wont allow fittings during the weekend and there is no exception - the only do fittings during the week....so my FH was like okay, can i at least make an appointment so she can try the dress on for her mother - and macys said no, they wont even take my dress out of storage on the weekend because 'its too hectic and my dress can get ruined' and he started getting annoyed and then they told him some crap that its really busy on the weekends, and something could happen to the dress b/c there are people with strollers in the store - W_T_F does that have to do with anything?
omg i am soooo beyond pissed right now - we paid good money for my dress and now i cant even try it on when i want? because they are morons and dont know how to run their store? and now if i take my dress out, its at my own risk? how come they didnt tell me all these rules when i bought it? they were being such a-holes to my FH - and this was supposed to be a surprise and now he had to break the news to me that my mom might not even get to see my dress until the wedding
i want to call and scream at them.....and i went there on the weekend when it was 'busy' and there were like 5 people in the store and i didnt see any strollers

its amazing to me to hear stories like this. I am so sorry they are doing that to you, its really unfair.
My place where i got my gown, bent over backwards for me, anything i wanted, they pulled my gown out of storage, let me show as many people as i wanted.
Its so upsetting to hear that stores actually treat people like this after you spend hard earned money there.

is there a manager that you can speak with? Maybe if you call and tell them how someone was talking to your FH and about how you are spending lots of money..and that your mother lives out of state etc... maybe you could go later on towards the night when most people aren't shopping for gowns and it wouldn't be a 'risk' to take it out of storage
that would pi$s me off too!

i mean i understand that yes, it can be busy on a weekend - but if we are calling to make an appointment far in advance i dont see why there would be a problem......my FH told me not to worry, he'll make sure i can try it on - but now i am actually afraid to go there on a weekend and put it on because of how 'dangerous' they made it sound - because it sounds like they are careless and idiots

That really stinks nicole, i'm so sorry. Is there any way your mom can fly in a day early so maybe you can go on a Friday afternoon/early evening to try it on?

i dont know whats going on but my FH said everything is fine now - i dont know why he had to say anything to me in the first place....HE is so dramatic sometimes i wish he didnt say anything - he made me get all annoyed and pissy now!

I'm so sorry you're having so many problems. I bought my dress from Macys herald square and they said no problem, I walked in a couple of times with my BMs and they let me try the dress on again.
I would call them again and see if you can speak to a manager or something, maybe the person your FH spoke to was just a b*tch. I wouldnt give up keep calling!

yea he said its fine now - which i guess means we are going to see it - but not sure if ill be able to start alterations that day, which is fine, but i want my mom to at least be able to see me try my dress on - she hasnt been here for anything and she hasnt even seen me try on 1 wedding dress at all (except hers ) so it would really suck if she didnt get to see me in it......i could try the sample, but the sample is so big that it looks stupid on me - and i customized the dress, so its not even the same
