I just came from my hall where i was supposed to be doing my finalizations. They informed me that they have us down for the wrong time slot. My invites are already out!
We're supposed to be 8:00- 1:00 and they have us down 8:30-1:30. What are my guests supposed to do for half hour??!! They said they are completely booked and can't do anything. I was told to right an 'oops letter' to my guests!! I'm soooo upset ... i dont need this stress 2 months before my wedding!
What to do??!!!

Chica don't worry. If your family is as Dominican as mine, they will show up half an hour late anyway. Don't stress about it. We latinos never show up on time.

What!!!! OMG.. they cannot just say oops and not fix this for you somehow. They don't have a room where guests can go beforehand?? My hall told me guests can come as early as they want and they have a room with bar available to wait in.
That is crazy esp. since it was their fault and you send out invites. They had no solution for you??? I am sorry.. that is crazy! I guess if they absolutely can not fix the timing, they should give you a discount or pay for the follow up note you will have to send out to your guests. Thats upsetting to have to do though. What happens if people arrive at 8pm? Did they say what would happen??

Is 8:00 the time that the reception or cocktail hour was suppose to start? Is there a way they can extend maybe the cocktail hour, or have a reserved area for your guests in case they come 'early' (for the 8pm)?

can they do some kind of hospitality for a 1/2 hour?
My RH does hospitality. for a 1/2hr before the ceremony where they just serve drinks passed butler style and such.

my hall said if people showed up early theyd have some champagne and cheese and crackers and veggies etc.. set up in a different room....maybe they can do something like that for you!

I dont even think they have anywhere to accomodate my guests. They are multiple event hall and they are completely booked!

Im getting married at Leonards too and they made us come in to sign a change form on the contract when we changed our time, I would speak with Antonio or your BM and explain your dilemma - see if they could possibly give u a small room to have the guests hang out in until CH and maybe serve them coffee and some cookies etc. A half hour will go faster than you think but see if they could accommodate you with some place to put ur guests. Since there was no time change form signed technically they're not liable but they should have told you to come in to sign it so I'm sure if you speak with them they'll def help you work something out - dont stress, it'll work out. Guests will be meeting & greeting each other at that time anyway the 1/2 will be fast!

Do you have any proof in writing that your time is correct? Via email or via contract? If so you can contact the better business or contact the owner of the hall. I know Scotto Brothers owns the hall FOX HOLLOW and they take things very seriously.

Antonio is my BM and the one who told me he would make the change. When we switched rooms i had to go sign that form you're saying. But for the time change he said he would take care of it for us via email. I'm just upset that this was handled like this

a) I would FIGHT tooth and nail with Leonard's... this is THEIR fault, not yours and if they had told you before your invites went out, fine, but you are NOT sending an 'Oops' letter. Tacky!!
b) I wouldn't say anything to my guests. I would just let them show up and let Leonard's figure out what to do with them. 30 minutes really ins't a crazy long amount of time... people will just assume you or the hall is running late.

I would demand that they accomodate you, it may not be in a contract but it is in writing that they changed the time for you
I don't understand how the CH room will not be available 30 minutes earlier?? I mean it has to be available there is just NO way that the room was only going to be ready at 830, I Just dont see how it cant be empty they do not do CHs back to back like that, they wouldnt have enough time to empty the room and clean it if they did it that way
I mean honestly if worse comes to worse, you will have to send out that sorry letter, very annoying and a huge inconvenience...Id make them pay for all the stamps and the cost for you to do so
on the other hand, will your guests really show up at that time?
I am putting 530 on my invites, even tho we are starting at 6pm bc I want everyone to be on time for my ceremony at 6pm, I feel like people ALWAYS get to weddings late, especiallllllly when the ceremony is on site
however that being said, my hall is in agreement and they will provide drinks for my guests for that half hour, although im sure it will be more like 15 minutes not 30 minutes
but anyway sorry for the long post...it will all work out in the end...its a tiny snafu and you will still be marrying your fh at the end!
