Im soooooo Upset and scared

Hi girls well I just got back from the OBGYN and he told me I need to have surgery to remove a large cyst on my ovary I am soooo scared has anyone had this procedure before? I know I am probably overreacting but I am just freaking out I dont want to have the surgery but he told me that a cyst the size of mine can twist and cause my ovary and fallopian tubes damage wich will lead to fertility problems........
please say a prayer for me and if anyone has had this before can you let me know what Im in store for? Thanks girlies

Just wanted to give you some . You will be fine, it is a very common procedure these days, so don't worry! I had a big fat cyst 6 years ago that didn't get detected and it burst and THAT was the most painful thing I have ever gone through. Its much better to deal with it now then worry about it in the future. Your Dr will probably put you on BC to prevent new ones from forming, thats what mine did. I haven't had any more ruptures since then, and the cysts that are still there have actually shrunk. So that may be really helpful for you too!

I know it may sound scarey just hearing the word surgery... but soo many people I know have had that. YOu will be fine...
Take a deep breath and think it'll be only for the better...

I can tell you not to worry but you will anyway. I had the surgery 15 years ago and I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter. Medicine has come along way since then so TRY not to worry. Good luck and stay strong.

I had a procedure done to remove an ovarian cyst ( I get them every month it seems). Mine was the size of an egg. I opted to have it removed rather than rick it twisting.

The procedure was laproscopic and it took me about a week to recover.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this stress, but don't be scared. One of my bms had a cyst burst, and she was in China for work at the time. Fast forward one year, and she is now 7 mos. pregnant. Cysts are common and it is great that you know about it and can have it removed. Good luck!
