I'm stressed Girl's about photographers...

I'm stressed Girl's about photographers...

I have received lots of help from Hollie and Michele and a few other girls. I thank you so much for your help!
I don't know who to pick. I try to do all my research and then make appts. I keep going threw all the info I received back and forth and I just feel overwhelmed.
Picking a photographer is one of the important vendors IMO. I don't want to spend that much money but I of course want nice pictures.
I want a bridal album, parent albums, I also think I want digital pictures so it will be on a disc. Ughhhh....I'm just stressing myself out. I just needed to vent.
Thanks Girls!!!

Thanks Michelle you have been very helpful!

I haven't been to anyone yet. I don't know who I want to make appts for. I would like to go to 3 or so and make a decision. I hate going everywhere. That is why I have been reviewing the quotes that I received. I just needed to vent.

*hugs* It'll work out.

I really think you HAVE to go look at albums...because the most important thing is for the work to just jump out at you.

I suggest Artisan. They have really reasonable packages, great customer service and you get the best of both worlds. They shoot entirely on film, but then convert it to digital, so you can get all kinds of didigtal effects (included) and they post your proofs online for free! And I just think the work is SO great.

Not to overwhelm you even more...lol

but seriously, don't think too much about price..you HAVE to go look at the albums and see what really speaks to you and what really represents what you want your wedding album to look like. Getting price quotes can help you get an idea of theprice range, but it can't help you choose a photographer.

I agree w/ Marymoon, you need to make some appts to narrow down the field. Seeing their work on line vs the actual albums is completely different. Since you've done so much leg work, just make appts with those you can afford. I went to see Silverfox, and fell in love, only for them to be out of our budget. You don't want to eat your heart out.
You'll know when you find the right studio. I am using Duet. Their work was very similar to SF but half the price.

Good Luck!!

We booked K&J , they are great with working out packages for your budget. They do digital and film. And i didnt have to go to the studio for an appointment, the photographer came to my house with a bunch of Albums, and it was pretty comfortable, relaxed in my own home and looked at pics. I dont have the # with me, im at a friends house, if your interested FM me.

Michelle-

I am sorry that you are stressing. I agree with Jenn that you should see the photographer's work first. I completely understand what you are going through. I stressed about every aspect of the photographer until it was booked. Even then John had to help calm me down! What helped me was going to look at the different photographers and then talking about it with john. We saw 2 on the same day, that was the max that we would do. We only ended up seeing 4 and John would have booked Bill the 1st day if it wasn't for my anxiety!! Once you start seeing the vendor's work, you will be able to narrow down your search. Please let me know if you need anything else! I am here for you and glad to help!!

Definetely see their work and meet with them before you start to stress!! We chose our photographer because we loved their work AND the fact the we felt comfortable with them. I think you have to like the place also and the people who work there. We are using Silver FOx..they are pricey and their prices are on their website. It WILL ALL WORK OUT!!

Definately you have to go see the photographers work....That is the best judgement...Plus you need to make sure that you are feeling comfortable with the photographer bc you are with them ALL day long!!! In my opinion the photo was the most important! I ended up booking ADA Studios & that was bc I had seen our photographer's work first hand (my FBIL used them in 03) Their pictures were EVERYTHING we were looking for and more!! Don't stress though, you will make the right decision!

Awww Michelle
I went through the same thing -- photography was one of the most important vendors for me. I went over quotes first, too. Then made about 3 appointments to meet them. All I can tell you is when you actually meet them and see their work, you can make the decision alot easier than just by reviewing quotes. You have to see their actual work, see if you like their personality, etc. If I were you, I'd definitely check out Dan Krieger -- he's highly recommended by Villa's!!

Hang in there kiddo!!!!

Hi Michelle...

I am in you boat, rowing right along with you. I feel your pain. I have been trying to put this off, but I think that finally this weekend, we are going to see some vendors.

I have an appt. with 12th NT. and I will be making one with K & J. Also Perceptions and perhaps Artisan- and also Sentinel in Westchester.

I think I have an idea of what I want, and, just as importantly, what I want to spend and I figure to just exhaust all possibilities until I get it. I am trying to think of it like a treasure hunt or the quest for the Holy Grail LOL anything to keep me from getting disgusted and going crazy.

Good luck!!! Let me know if you want to compare notes!!!

Thanks Girls, you are all GREAT!
I will start making appts. I try not to stress but I can't help myself. But your right by seeing and meeting with them should make it easier for me. I hope. lol

Jessica I love how you are rowing right along side me. That was funny! I would definitely like to compare notes as soon as I get some.

Thanks again Girls!!!

I remember how overwhelming it was trying to even decide who to see. Once you see one or two, you'll have a much better idea what you are looking for and the questions you need to ask.

Good Luck!

Yes it has been overwhelming not knowing who to see and where to start. But I now have a list who I am going to make an appt with and take it from there. I feel better about it now.
Until I go and visit at least then I will probably be back posting. Who should I pick??

Jessica,
I can't believe that you are going to Sentinel! Neftali is great! How did you find him? His work was really nice but FI and I had already fallen in love with Bill Minnick. Let me know how it goes after your visit!!

I'm using Creative Compositions in Oyster Bay.. they did a great job on my cousins album and the photographers are really nice. I def would suggest giving them a call. They are a bit pricey but I think they would work with you if you had a budget. Good Luck
