I'M SUCH A SAPPY MOM

I'M SUCH A SAPPY MOM

Though this is not wedding related, (sort of), I've been in such a down mood.

While going through many boxes that I have stored away, I came across a box filled with both my kids baby shoes, school papers, letters to me, just so many wonderful memories. I was and still am such a keeper of their things, I have tons. So this morning I started going through the box and my God, I was actually sobbing.

I know that I have been emotionally effected by both their weddings being so close together, how close the 3 of us really are, I just can't believe how it all hit me a little while ago. It hit me hard.

I cried my eyes out Friday when my son called me while honeymooning, figured it was just the moment of it all and after wedding tears. Though I shed more than I thought I had inside me...LOL...Seems thats all I've done this past week.

My name really suits me 'MomNeedsTissues'....

I opened 'the box' also, not too long ago. I was depressed for some time afterwards. And doing it while your son is on his honeymoon was definitely one of the worse times you could have picked. You never expect to react like that when you first see it, right? I don't plan on looking at those things for some time -probably not until I'm ready to give the things to each kid.
No one but a Mom would understand!

Your are so right. Just seeing their tiny christening outfits, shoes, school drawing, etc, would depress anyone.

Though much of them were such happy tears, sorrow tears of their adulthood just ripped at my heart.

Its called 'empty nest' and just plain old sappy. 4 years ago, I lost my very dear Aunt Marie. I grew up with her and her family, I was like her daughter, so close that my daughter carries her name. During my sons ceremony, there were sun rays coming through the clouds and I knew that Aunt Marie was with me. When I opened my daughters childhood create, the outfit that my Aunt bought for her when she was born was in there and I remembered that this was the outfit that she came home in. That added to my ever flowing tears.

Though going through the empty nest syndrome, I have many many happy memories of everything I touched.
