I'm sure this topic has been covered before but....
Original post by Tonys_Girl_03
I am trying to decide what to do.... pictures before the ceremony or pictures during the cocktail hour?? Since our ceremony is at our RH we don't have time in between to take pictures, so either we see each other before or we miss our cocktail hour. FH says he'd rather do it before (cause he's all about the food!), but he'd do whatever makes me happy. I love the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony, and I would looooove to see his reaction when he sees me walking down the aisle.... and on the other hand, I reeeaaaallly don't want to miss the cocktail hour... I'M SO TORN!!!
What are you girls doing??? TIA

We are doing them before the ceremony and arranging some sort of special first meeting. Then again, I'm not traditional so that doesn't bother me, and FH doesn't care where/when we first see each other, as long as we make it special.

I'm taking them during CH because I don't want to see FH before the ceremony.

We have an hour and a half between the church and the CH, and my photog said to me that he wants us to be able to go to the entire CH... so we'll take some on the beach after the church and some out by the lake at the RH.

Love this idea!--of the reveal! I would not want to miss any of the CH.

Thanks for the help girls, I think I'm leaning to do picks before the CH. I think I'll set up something cool to do the 'reveal' and just get the pics out of the way.
I may change my mind though, I do have 429 days, 4 hours, 34 minutes and 47 seconds to figure it out!

Our ceremony is at the reception hall too, and I wanted to take the pictures before the ceremony, especially since it isn't until 7pm. But FH wants to keep it the traditional way, so now we're missing our CH, or at least part of it. I'm a little bummed about it, but FH also brought up the point that when we make our entrance into the reception hall, it will be even better because we won't have just spent an hour talking to everyone.

My practical side is all about doing it before but there´s a part of me that is still uneasy about that. Here´s what I was thinking:
Before the ceremony I will try to get as many pics as possible in that don´t include him and do the together ones after the ceremony. But then I got to thinking, how many pics do you actually take without each other. All I could think of was that i´ve seen pics with bride with BM, bride with GM, groom with BM, groom with BM each with their parents . . but don´t know what else? So I´m not sure if it wll really save that much time.

we are seeing eachother before. we wanted to go to our CH and we are getting married at the hall so we would have missed the whole thing.
we will do our 'reveal' privately with just us 2 and the photographer. IMO i actually like this private moment better because its gives us a chance to hug and kiss eachother and have a few words as oppose to when you walk down the aisle you cant do that, you go right into the ceremony.
