im terrified

as my wedding is approaching... I am getting sooo nervous... I HATEEEEE being the center of attention, I feel sooo uncomfortable.. and to walk out and see close to 400 guests makes me soo nervous... I cant stop thinking of this.... it is really creating some serious anxiety

i feel like this too. i had a big engagement party and i felt like that was my trial run. the first few minutes was very nerve wrecking, but then it was amazing. i got too busy to think about it anymore.

we did an engagement dance, and i was extremely nervous for that.

but you're gonna be FINE!!! you'll love it!

There are ways to minimize the anxiety. When I met w. a DJ I told him I had some anxiety about my entrance into the reception. FH is very much anti-wedding (I am doing 100% of all the wedding planning and vendor bookings) and the idea of 'putting on a show' for a lot of people doesn't appeal to him.

My DJ showed us a video clip of a bride/groom who felt the same way and they really downplayed a lot of the major wedding customs. For ex: they didnt go any of that garter or bouquet toss, the bride had maybe 3 bridesmaids/MOH tops, only 2 best men..and they decided not to a formal entrance. They just had the DJ start playing some songs while they stood at the doorway and greeted their guests as they entered the room from the cocktail hour...After all the guests were inside, the couple told everyone to get up and join them on the dance floor..it had the effect of minimizing that 'spotlight is on us' effect..

FH and I will prob do something like this...I hate being the center of attention at public gatherings too.
