I'm thankful for the gift but...

I'm thankful for the gift but...

DH's aunt who came to the wedding with her husband and two kids is a very successful woman who has bragged about her salary several months back stating she makes 40 grand per MONTH(not including her husbands who is also successful) just sent a gift to our house and it was 4 champagne flutes that's grand total is $44...... Do I have any right to be annoyed??

Ouch! I think not so much for the fact that she brags about her salary because you never really know (people talk a ton of crap...lol)....but the fact that 4 people attended the wedding. Not cool.

and its not like anything can be said but part of me wants to let my MIL know just so she is aware and see her response

Yea you need to say it super non-nonchalantly like oh guess what gift we received today from so and so. We got the ______ we wanted. And then it's putting it out there but not negatively...lol

At least she gave you something. It's hard to not be annoyed but she may not be as successful as she says she is. Just remember this and move on

Look at it ina good way...if your ever invited to her party, just bring her 2 of the same bottles.

Just move on, you will always get one of those at weddings. I did!!!!!!

What does your hubby think? Is he the type that would mention it to his mom? That might be even better.... I would somehow find a way to 'casually' mention it.....

I'd be annoyed , I hate when people brag about how much money they make! It seems like alot of people who have it are stingy , and people who don't have that much are so much more generous.
