Im Ticked!

Im Ticked!

So, my soon-to-be SIL calls to tell me she can't afford the shoes. They are $50...and I already have girls who have ordered them and had them dyed to match there dress.

The thing that really gets me is shes an LPN who makes $25 an hour and her husband makes good money too. They live in a nice house and they keep it really nice! Tell me you can't afford $50. I know they have more money than anyone else in the BP!

My FH says to ask her how much shes willing to pay and we will make up the diff. Well, thats not fair to the other girls who actaully need more help than she does...and we can't afford it either!

Help, what do I do...

Tell her you'll lend her the $$ and then she can pay you back, say $10 a week.

Seriously tho, $50??

Okay, while planning my wedding, one of my bm's was unemployed..... well I told her I would help in any way i could (I mean, it was my wedding and she was broke) fast foward... she gets a job, makes double an hour what I make, and I am buying her shoes. I guess you just have to suck it up and do it. I mean, like ou said, it's $50... some people are so stingy!

Were there problems with her buying the dress too? Because I don't think $50. is too expensive, especially dyables! You can't get a pair of decent sneakers for less than $40.

And there are going to be more wedding-related expenses too, is this what it's going to be like for the rest of it?

I'm sorry.

The dress was $160 dollars...and she didn't say anything about it...I know, I didn't think 50 was horrible.

I agree with Cindy! For each month she's late with payment, charge her interest!

I WISH the weddings I was in only cost me $200. Sheesh!

Do you think she might be complaining for the sake of complaining? I hope this is the last you hear of it.

Are they floor length dresses? Could she get away with a cheaper shoe?

Why don't u let her pick something she can afford that matches. Maybe her issue is she just doesn't like the shoes..
Personally I don't care what shoes everyone wears...

$50 is not much for shoes and not enough money to have to get very upset about. I agree with your FH - ask her what she can afford (make her look ridiculous) and then just pay the rest. She did not have to say yes to be in the bridal party and you are absolutely not asking that much from her.

Re: Im Ticked!

i think some people just like to complain - I have been in about 5 weddings with dresses ranging from $100 to $400- with shoes ranging from $40 to $100 . . . and I never ONCE talked to the bride about the price!

I don't want to sound like bridezilla but that is why you 'ask' someone to be in the wedding - that way if they can't financially afford it then they have the option of sharing the day with you in other ways - as a planning helper and a guest!

i am sure you have enough to be stressed about - so I guess I would just lend her the money BUT just prepare yourself to never see it again . . .

I really don't care what the girls wear on their feet...I just think since a couple of my girls already have the 'pricey' shoes it wouldnt be fair to them. I don't know...It just gives me something else to worry about. Thanks for the help ladies.
