I met with a DJ tonight who I love, but he's $1,300 more than another DJ (who I haven't met with, but other LIW girls are using the company and highly recommend him). I can afford him, but I'd have to give up getting Manolos for the wedding. OR I can get him and FH and I can pay for the Manolos (we're kind of poor...but it would be all we are spending on the wedding...)
What would you do?

I say less expensive dj and get the shoes. You can wear the shoes again... the same is not true with the dj....
What does he do that is worth that much more??? My dj isn't even half that....... (although I am going with bare minimum)

Dj is the emcee of the evening. I would go with the one you are most comfortable with.

I agree... but I'm not a shoe person. I can buy a dog for the amount of those shoes lol.

My nickname is Imelda Marcos so naturally I would say get the shoes! HOWEVER, check online for sample Manolo sales...i believe they have one every October and the prices are about 100 - 150...Another option is search the web for super sales on designers I think ruelala is one and there are bunch of others that are escaping me right now! Try those options and if it works for you, you'll be able to have the DJ you want AND the shoes!

i know how much you wanted those shoes so i said to go with the cheaper DJ and buy the manolos
though as others said, that's only if you're equally comfortable with both DJs

I'm a total shoe girl BUT in this case I'd have to say definitely spend the extra money on the DJ and find another pair of shoes. Remember, your DJ is going to be entertaining people and thats what they are going to remember, not your shoes.

go with the better DJ. they will help to make your night memorable. you can find great shoes that are gorgeous and less expensive than Manolos. Maybe you can find a pair on ebay to help you save money.

I voted cheaper DJ and skip the shoes.
I am so not a shoe person so I dont understand the obsession with Manalos and I am also a budget bride so I would go for the less DJ

Many popular wedding shoe companies make shoes that look exactly like some styles of Manolos for way less money. I'd buy those and go with the more expensive DJ. You can always buy your dream Manolos after the wedding with your wedding money

I would say skip the shoes and go for the DJ. DJ's are what makes the party a party. My friend wanted $325 Kate Spades and ended up finding the EXACT pair but by RSVP on Zappos for $80. Look around, you might find something else that you like or something EXACTLY like the more expensive shoe.

im all for shoes, im obsessed, BUT if it comes to your wedding entertainment vs. sshoes DEFINITELY pick the entertainment!!!! this will keep your party going and keep your guests enjoying themselves
yeah the shoes are gorgeous but in all reality no one will really see them, maybe a peek here and there but im sure you can still find AMAZING shoes for like half the price

i agree, i would love to have a pair of shoes like that but i rather the dj. i think i would have more enjoyment out of that.
