I'm very sad...

I'm very sad...

I don't think we can go on my DREAM honeymoon to Bora Bora...

We've gotten a few great quotes-thank you camacho!! But really, we can't afford it.
For 10 nites, in Bora Bora & Moorea, staying on an over-the-water bungalow in Bora Bora for 3 nites/w/food, 6 nites in moorea-
it would have been 3600 PP.

I thought it was a great quote until FH factored in food for Moorea and activites..when its all said n done..it will prob be close to 10K-

I'm really upset

I need somewhere to go now thats SORTA like Bora Bora...anyone have any ideas??

Sorry

How much do you guys want to spend? If your looking for less then 10K then maybe check out:

St. Lucia, Aruba, Atingua, St Thomas, Barbados or St Barts ( not sure how expensive that is).

Dont be upset...you and your future husband will have the rest of your lives for dream vacations!

Similar to Tahiti: maybe Hawaii, Carribean islands

PS- have you factored in the $ youll get for gifts or maybe you can register at a travel agency so your friends and family can help your dream come true?

make it your 10 year anniversary trip. that way you have plenty of time to save. (if that's too far away, make it the 1 year or 5 year)

dont worry there are many places in the carribean that are similiar but no over water bungalows.
Have you considered private areas like Peters Island or Cap Julupa- I suck at spelling sorry. there is also another private island oh what is the name of it- ahhh cant remember it.
ah I remembered it Tortuga Island.

Re: I'm very sad...

Did you contact Alison Adams at Tahiti Travel something or other? She gave me a really good rate when i intially looked into it (It's not for me, but I can certainly understand why so many people go!!!).

A Honeymoon Registry is the way to go because people think they are giving you 'gifts' when really it is just cash that is going towards the HM vs. the bank. Ask whoever plans your shower to put the honeymoon registry - and only the honeymoon registr - info in with the invite.

I'd also suggest looking into honeymoonwishes.com for this. They are the only site that lets you get hold of the money at any time - most let you have it a week before. But IMO, what's the point of that? You need to pay (or at least I do) for the trip in full a month or whatever in advance?

FM if you want more info about the honeymoon registry.

PS - forgot to mention, look into Hawaii (that's what I'm doing.) It is literally in the same place on the globe as Tahiti, just north of the equator instead of south.

Re: I'm very sad...

I understand your sadness, we almost didn't book a honeymoon because we were unsure of the amount of time we could take off. By the time we actually got to a travel agent we didn't have as much money as we thought. Anyway, we just booked a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We are in the newest resort, Paradisus Palma and were able to book an all inclusive in the best room available. We even have our own private butler service. Worth looking into.....
