We're meeting with them on the 5th... any comments on the finished product? We are considering getting them for both photo and video.

I AM ALSO MEETING WITH THEM IN 2 WEEKS! THE ONLY THING THAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT YOU NEED TO USE THEM FOR BOTH VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY!

you know, I thought that that was going to be a drawback, but they do SUCH fabulous work, that why would you go anywhere else?! besides, you want the photographer & videographer to work together or their work won't be as good.
Check out my engagement pic's among others that have used them ... they turned out well & I HATE myself in Pic's.

Thanks girls for the comments. I have a follow up... Were they able to pose you in 'intersting/unusual/romantic ways' so that the posed shots didn't look boring?
The video part doesn't bother me, b/c we don't care as much about the quality of the video as of the photo, it will just make my search easier, one less thing to check off. As long as its two different people doing the job, I am ok with it.

Here are some of our posed shots from Imagine
Just to give you an idea. I am sure any photographer you go with, depending on their style you will get some great shots. Lia is a photojournalistic photographer, so she tends to take a lot of fun unposed shots.
We love our video, Nelson did such an awesome job, we did not even know he was in so many places, covering everything. They both are very unobtrusive

We got our video, the same time we picked up our proofs, so far we only have the unedited, once we provide the through the ages pix for the photo montage and the music, then Nelson will begin working on the final edited version

Thanks for everyone's advice. We reserved/booked Lia and Nelson last night after our meeting. They do wonderful work and Lia has such a good taste and a good eye to take awesome pix.

I have a follow up question about negatives:
Do they give them to you when the albums are done or they make you wait a year or some other ridiculous time and or force you to purchase extra pictures while you're waiting for the year time frame to go away? I would really appreciate if some newlyweds would be able to answer this question, as it seems to be the one question I meant to but forgot to ask.

I dont know what their policy is today, but when we used them last September they gave you the negatives when you picked up your album.

Wait, Fran M, you already picked up the album from your September wedding? How long does it take to make it? I thought it took 6 months or so?
Thanks for the reassurance though, I doubt their policy changed then, b/c we just met with them and only a few months passed between your wedding and our meeting.

We used them for our Aug 3, 2002 wedding, our album will be ready Feb 2003 You do get your proofs and all your negatives. I am sure we will get them once our album is completed, we have it stated in our contract. I know they need them to make the re-prints for our album that is why we do not yet have them. They gave us our negatives from our engagement shoot.
I am so happy you booked them.

Ok, so still good news then Our #2 photographer choice (after imagine) gave trouble to one of his customers whom I know. He promised a CD (b/c the wedding was shot digital, but he could use film too) with all the pictures, and gave them a copyrighted CD, so they can't print or save images ==> how horrible is that... But now I remember Lia mentioning something about providing us with a copyright release/permission letter so that we can get our own reprints. I won't worry for now, but I thought I would ask, just in case. I don't want to back out of the contract because I loved Imagine studio's style and havent seen anything similar to them.

Lia does not mind you making copies, her concern is someone else taking credit for her work. She gave me a letter to make re-prints when I needed to use the negatives for a few things from our e-pix Fret not, remember you are paying so don't be afraid to call and ask them about anything you are uncertain about. I called them so much I think she knows my ring

Shamma, thanks! I just really got paranoid because of the story I wrote about earlier and had we not found imagine we would have gone with #2. Now I am REALLY glad we didn't. And of course Lia would get all the credit for the work, hell I can't take the pictures I that
