I did buy my dress from there - it's been 6 months since (and I'm getting worried)
Did anybody have a good experience (please)??
Any advice on how I should handle things w/her now??
Should I call and tell her my concerns (and those on this site - w/o names of course)??
So sad!

I would call. Did they tell you when to expect the dress in by or have you talked to them since you ordered it? I would call and be nice at first, maybe they are expecting it shortly or there is another explaination. If they give you attitude then lay into them. You don't want to make them too made at you B4 you get the dress. Good Luck.

Re: Iman - any positive reviews??
My cousin DID NOT have a good experience there....Her dress was totaly altered wrong...Since no one said anything, my mother went crazy at the store...In the end, everything looked great, but I would just keep track of everything...be demanding...if you are easy going, they will think they can get away with what they do...
Every store has bad experiences...hopefully everything will turn out great for you...Let them know that you know about their reputation when it is time to get your dress altered or something...they may be more on top if you tell them that you speak to many brides...especially on the internet

Iman can get a bit snappy but dont be afraid to snap back at her . She is one of those people gets in shape when you show you might be a little crazier than she.

My sister worked there and said that she would never let me get my dress there. She said that they never meet any deadlines and lie when the brides pick up the dresses.

Re: Iman - any positive reviews??
I purchased my tiara there and ran into a couple of problems. I found them to be a bit disorganized. Iman had poor people skills and wasn't very accommodating (aka poor customer service) considering the business she is in, but the employee I dealt with was very kind and apologetic.
I don't have any advice, other than follow-up on your gown. Maybe consider having it altered elsewhere if you're that concerned.

AnnieB got her dress there and did NOT have a good experience with them. You should FM her to ask her how she handled it.

Re: Iman - any positive reviews??
Hi!
Confronting her with the negative comments you have heard/read will do nothing for you. That is EXACTLY what I did. Right after I bought my gown I saw a HORRILE thread on Iman on the weddingchannel.com. I brought it to her attention and she explained it away so well that I proceeded to buy my tiara, my mother's gown and all my bm's gowns there. All this, I swore I wouldn't do after I read all the horror stories on every board (there were a few good mixed in though). THIS is how well she reassured me.
Don't bother, just make sure you stay on top of things. I'm telling you, this is not a subjective thing. OBJECTIVELY speaking Iman is a nightmare. Do a search on here and you will find my full review.
MAKE SURE all your gowns are in on time. You will need the time. If you find the seamstress is not working out or your gown is not being treated well, get it out of there immediately.
The problem I had was that I trusted Iman. In the end, my gown did not come in until less than three weeks before my wedding. My BM's gowns were in LESS THAN A WEEK before my wedding and my mother had to pick up her gown the DAY BEFORE my wedding. This would have still worked out fine if Iman had been willing to work with me, which she wasn't.
Amazingly, Iman was my best friend in the beginning....I LOVED her. I raved about her and her store on every website. What a mistake. In the end, she made my life a living hell. She was so rude to me and completely uncompromising.
In the days leading up to my wedding. I traded sob stories with other brides-to-be about Iman in IMAN'S own store. The designer of my bm's gowns told me that he has problems with her all the time. I could go on and on.
In the end, I took my gown out of there, two days before my wedding. After PAYING for the alterations and spending probably $15,000 or more in her store.
