IMM SOO SADD

OK ... SO JUST TO START IM USUALLY NOT THIS EMOTIONAL BUT IM ON MY MONTHLY SO THIS MAY BE THE REASON WHY .....

SO just to make a long story short my FH is jewish and i am not ....you may think big deal right but it seems to be getting harder and harder ....

so because im Puerto Rican ppl are thinkin that we are gettin married for his papers ...(my jewish neighbors ) thats he 1st thing that upset me IMMMM SICK AND TIRED OF THE STEREO TYPE ...ITS F*ING 2008 PPL CAN MARRY WHO THEY WANT TOO

2. I want a sat wedding and last heard Rabi's dont marry on sat

3. MY FEELINGS ARE HURT AND IF YOU WOULD KNOW ME U WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT I AM A TOUGH GIRL AND MY FELINGS DONT GET HURT OFTEN .... this is getting harder and harder for me ...

the story goes deeper but i dont want to go too into it because i wll just get more upset ...

Is there any way you can incorporate some of your culture into the wedding? (I'm unfamiliar with the Puerto Rican culture so forgive my ignorance if none of this is possible). Are there any songs or dances? Maybe you can have favors that represent your culture and your FH's somehow (flags?? or maybe thats tacky). Or maybe there is certain jewelry or apparal your BMs can wear. Not sure if any of that is do-able, but we're here to help anyway we can!!

Friday weddings aren't bad especially in the summer. A Lot of people have summer Fridays!! I like Friday weddings because you have two days to recover.

And please correct me if I am wrong, I might not be understanding but you said the Rabbi cannot marry after 4pm or Sundown on Friday followed by the reception? Can you have him marry you before that time? Most weddings take place in the afternoon anyway.

And how late can they marry you on a Saturday? My boss' husband is Jewish and they got married at 7:30pm at the reception hall on a Saturday.

Well, if I am wrong then I agree with the girls on Sunday during Memorial Day weekend. And I believe it's one of the cheaper dates.

As for your neighbors - what's the matter?? Are they jealous that you two are young - hot - and in love? Sounds like they have nothing better to do in their lives...people like that are miserable with themselves...don't let them bring you down....you have other things to worry about than other people's stupidity!

my fh got home and i asked hm he said it didnt mater tha he would take care of it when it got closer and that all the girls that are talkin about me need to shut up because they gettin married to ppl they dont know or love ... and have 0 kids by the time they are 22 LMAOOO

Sorry I am late on this posting...but I am sorry that people are RETARTED....I also think that a Sunday night wedding during Memorial day weekend is a great idea...and its also a beautiful time of year

I'm Jewish and we are doing Sunday afternoon for a number of reasons. You could always look for a Sunday that's on a holiday weekend, so people are off the next day.

You can still do a Saturday night wedding, you just have to be married after sundown. I'm not sure if you are set on your date, but if you get married in the fall or winter sundown is quite early and you can have your standard 7pm or 7:30pm ceremony.

If you ARE set on a July Saturday night wedding, you can have a later ceremony, like 8:30pm. Some people have their cocktail hour, then the ceremony, and then the reception so things dont run so late and because people get hungry. It breaks up the night, and gives people a chance to get hungry again for the meal!

There are lots of Jewish people out there who get married, and many of them still do a Sat night. It can be done!

Most Jewish weddings are either Saturday nights after sundown or on Sundays. Beginning Friday night at sundown until Saturday night at sundown we celebrate shabbas. They wont perform weddings until after sundown because during shabbas there is no working. Like not even driving a car!

Depending how religious your FH and his family are you may also want to ask which calendar they will go by. The Jewish religion has a different calendar and there are sooo many dates that a Rabbi will not perform a ceremony. Crazy right?

I hope this didnt make your situation even worse! I say go for the Saturday night wedding!!!!! If you have any questions or issues totally feel free to FM me!
