If your hall gives you a hand written contract, insist on an actual typed up offical contract. this hand written stuff is BS, and unprofessional. I know not all halls do this. But I think it needs to be done. Saves lots of headaches.

Mine is typed up but they write in the deposits and dates we pay. Are some contracts completely handwritten?

my entire contract with my hall is hand written. I should have been smarter and demanded a real contract typed up. I just find it unprofessional and wonder if this could be why we have problems with them. But Im at fault for not saying I needed a professional contract.

The hand written ones were just the starting contract, once you officially book the place, they should have it typed out with all the rules. If they don't I would be hesitant to want to book with them

I think the florist was the only one that sent me a typed contract. The reception hall had a paper where they filled in the numbers but they didn't send us anything official.

I'm not sure what you mean by handwritten...my RH, photographer and limo company all have standard forms with all the rules written on them, and they fill in by hand the names, dates, services and prices.
I haven't heard of anyone else having any problems due to handwritten contracts.

I am booked at Fox Hollow and I have a contract that was in triplicate form but they hand wrote names & numbers on it. I would suggest to anyone to make payments by check obviously so you always have a receipt if they say otherwise.

ITA with paying by check, this way you can keep your own records of payment and you can see when they cash your check
