IMPORTANT QUESTION 5 DAYS BEFORE... NEED HELP

I'm doing my programs....

someone who has become like my father is walking me down the isle. My real dad has been absent for 10 years and is now deceased.

The man who is walking me down the isle is the closest thing to being my father and is a huge part of my life. So...

what is his title??? how do i put that in the program???

To put friend of the family... just doesn't do it. He's so much more than that.

Any ideas???

If you feel he's been like a father to you, then write him as a father. Those that know you and love you would understand.

Well, since he's guided you through most of your life and has been there like a father... you could call him your 'guardian'

Yes, you could say something like that. I don't think that's too informal either. Because I think that's the 'technical' term for someone that takes care of children when the biological father or mother isn't present.

Well, what advice would you give someone if they asked your question? Do you call him 'Dad'? Do you introduce him as 'my father'... or something 'he's like a father'.....

Okay. Now what about his daughter who is a bridesmaid of mine. Whats her title? And before you girls say 'friend'... she's 15 and i wouldn't say she's my friend. I see her as my little sister. (yes i'm a pain, i know)

In all honesty, it's an honor and privilege to escort the bride, and it's known that whoever is doing it is a very special part of your life.

ie: I've seen programs where it states the 'title' and then the name...without describing the relation of the person.

Best Man....John Doe
Maid of Honor....Jane Smith

vs.

Best Man...John Doe - Brother of Groom
etc...

Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.
