Re: Impressions
I've been wrong many times about people. Sometimes we just catch them at a bad time & misjudge them.

Re: Impressions
its easy to decide someone is a certain way and then realize you were completely wrong about them. One or the other

Re: Impressions
I use my gut...and always stick by first impressions. Sure, I may dislike someone at first and then become good friends with them...but somehow, I always wind up back to my first gut feeling. It's uncanny. I think I'm a pretty good judge of character - regardless of a bad day or something. I think you can always see through the person to tell if it's a bad day...or just a bad person. *shrug*

Re: Impressions

Re: Impressions
A person's words and actions make the impression for me.
I tend to notice how much someone talks, if they interrupt people, if they seem to be a good listener.
Body language also says a lot. Some people have very aggressive body language.
I think impressions can change, for better and for worse.

Re: Impressions
I have definitely had wrong first impressions...
but usually I am pretty unobservant...my friend will say to me...'did you see her nose/hair/shirt, etc' and I will have no clue...so I'm probably not the person to answer

Re: Impressions
Impressions form immediately from someones look, followed by their voice, followed by HOW they speak. By the time 5 seconds of conversation has passed, i usually have a idea of what sort of person he/she is.
Overally, I tend to dislike most people when I first meet them. But i have definitely changed my mind about some of those initial impressions.

I'm a hardass. You have 30 seconds and then that's it. It takes a lot to change my mind.

Re: Impressions
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and wait until the personally offend me before I write them off. I figure everyone has some good in them somewhere.
