In a bit of a pickle

Ok so last night FH and I went to Michaels and we found DIY invites and programs that we LOVE! We would be saving like $400 if we went with these instead of going to the professional that my Mom used for her November 2007. Now don't get me wrong, this professional is AMAZING! Very helpful and just awesome! However, we would be paying like 4x the cost. My mom and my sister think DIY invites are tacky. But I don't think they are at all. FH and I really want to do them ourselves to save the cost plus we love this pattern and it goes perfectly with our theme. What are your thoughts?
