I am in a bit of a pickle......We are going with 3/17/12 (St. Patty's Day) as our wedding date. We were almost dead set on this. Reasons you ask? Well, winter pricing (paying for it ourselves) and allows us time to save.
Now....the deal.....We received a great deal from one of the RH that are at the top of our list. The curve ball.....giving us a Saturday Night SUMMER wedding for VERY close to our winter pricing.
Here's my problem: that give me 7 months less to plan and save money. Meaning, we will have to really nail down budgets, cut certain things out and do without.....Is planning a wedding in 10 months even possible??
I was raised in Florida and LOVE the hot weather. My ultimate would be to get married in the summer, just wasn't possible because of the prices.....what would you do? Any tips on saving money but still not having to go without? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. I would like to make a decision soon, as it is right around the corner......

If it's in the budget, I would go for it! 10 months is PLENTY of time to save for a wedding and a summer wedding on a Saturday sounds like a nice idea. If my wedding cost the same on a Saturday, I would switch in a heartbeat (JMO).

i totally would do it! 10 months is plenty of time. yes that extra 7 would be nice to be able to save but simmer weddings are also so great. you have more options for pictures, its warmer obvisouly, please can travel easier, less stress about friggin snow storms.
good luck!

That is an AWESOME deal! personally if I was offered a Saturday night summer wedding for close to winter prices I would do it! (I am getting married on a Saturday night - but spring) ...a St. Pattys day wedding is pretty cool too though!
about cutting out things and doing without you and your FH would have to decide is the saturday summer wedding worth giving up x,y and z or is it better to stick with the original plan and have x,y and z.
You can DEFINATELY plan a wedding in 10 months.. my friend just got married in October she starting planning in May or June lol
As far as money... I really cant help bc I suck at staying on budget and saving lolol

well first off YAY! for being able to move the wedding around when you really would want to get married. Summers are always high priced.. this is coming from a fellow winter bride :) but we wanted winter to begin with and i picked the one day that is priced like the summer so i lose all around lol! anyways.. i think alot of brides.. and im just as guilty as this get caught up in wanting EVERYTHING! i was recently at a wedding there everything was very simple nothing added to the cocktail or reception the basic package and the favors were already on the tables... and simple centerpieces.. it just wasnt over done and i left that wedding like wow that was a really nice wedding very tasteful! make a list of what you NEED .. and there are soo manyy vendors out there you will def find vendors that will match your budget.. and stick to budget! you might be a little tight with saving but where there is a will theres a way! and enjoy yourself you will have the time of your life at the wedding and the next 10 months of planning will be very worth it!
good luck!!!

go for it, if you are determined and ambitious which I'm sure you are since you got a deal to being with you can totally do this! I am getting married 3/10/12 and I want it to come sooner, I'm almost all done planning already haha

Re: In desperate need of advice.......
My sister got engaged in September and is getting married in May 2011!! I think you can def do it but it will take some serious budgeting, tme and effort!!! Before FH and I knew what my parents were giving us we just assumed we were guna do it ourselves thats why we made it for 2012. I am sooo happy we did though even after we found out our parents are helping us alot because I am really taking my time with wedding planning and not rushing and its niceto enjoy this time because we wont get to experience it again

Re: In desperate need of advice.......
Thanks ladies! I've been on the phone with FH the last hour discussing our possibilities and have come to the conclusion that this is in fact what we both want. Well, he wants it, because he knows how happy I will be because of it!
Yes, serious budgeting is going to be desperately needed! And I will begin on that as soon as I get home tonight....wonderful!
FH has offered to get a second job (nights and weekends) doing anything to help out. We do however have a 3 year old son, so me getting a part time job is not feasable.
BTW Ashley....I'm sure I can find a couple things for you to do
Any budget friendly vendor reviews? FM if you could! I think I may want to stick to the preferred list, only because of the added discount...but am open for any other cost friendly ideas!
Let the race commence! This outta be a hoot..

Wow!!!! How exciting!!!! I definitely think it would be possible! If I could have convinced FH to go for next fall that would have been great! I am not patient at all and 526 days sounds like an eternity! Good luck, keep us posted!!!!!
