IN keeping with Eogara's request to help increase responses to posts
maybe it would help if instead of posting general subjects like 'Does it bother you?' or 'Has anyone ever?' to post at least some vague mention of the subject being asked about. It really tends to push me to skip a post when it is that vague and I think we all know the frustration of asking a question and not getting answered. What do you all think about trying to have a subject that refers to the question or post topic rather than something vague?

Maybe I am the odd-ball here, but sometimes I am more likely to check out a vague subject line. It gets my curiosity. Whereas, if the subject line is specific and I don't think I have any relevant knowledge/advice for it, or it is something that doesn't interest me-----I won't click on it at all. Am I making sense?

Absolutely, really interesting point. Maybe I am speaking more of my own experience, but it seems like there are a lot of 'I know this has been done before' or 'NWR' or 'Does anyone know' and I just don't gravitate as much towards them. Especially if these are coming from people who are looking for help, if folks are like me, I thought it might be wise to consider amending. BUT, I guess it depends if folks are like me ;) or not. Anyway, totally get your point, thanks for making it, and I hope we hear several opinions.

I sort of agree with Deb. I get frustrated when people put vague subject lines in. It is like they are trying to rope you into clicking on their topic. This may not be their intention, but it feels like it.
Regarding responses to newbies, I sympathize with those who get frustrated by low response rates and I am trying to do my part by responding more. It is hard because I am at work when I visit this site and have to be very stealth about it!! LOL

Re: IN keeping with Eogara's request to help increase responses to posts
I hardly ever open posts that say 'Come Look' or 'What do you think' or 'I just got my'
With no incliation of what they are talking about... But that's just me. I pop on here several times a day when I am at work and I just don't pull up topics that don't make any sense on first reading ... There are too many posts to click on ones that don't have to do with me or I cannot give advice on so I skip whatever doesn't spell it out.
When I am home at night or on the weekends, I am more likely to actually read through more topics than on Monday through Friday..

Re: IN keeping with Eogara's request to help increase responses to posts
I have actually posted topic specific posts and received hardly any replies. The other day I posted about 'colored invitations' and know that there are brides on the site who are using them... have yet to receive one response. Personally, I like topic specific and relevant posts. Some brides are genuinely looking for help but those posts get lost in a sea of posts that, quite honestly, are sometimes about topics that aren't really post worthy.
Also, as Deb has said in the past, please check previous posts. We don't expect you to search for months or weeks but someone will post a topic one day and then another bride will post the exact same topic the next day. Maybe some brides aren't responding to your post if someone just posted the same topic yesterday.
Not trying to stir up the pot just trying to help make the process more efficient.
