How are you telling guests that you are making a donation? We would like to donate to american cancer society and I was thinking about giving a pink ribbon with a note or possibly just a big poster in a frame by the entrance to the reception.

Re: In lieu of donations...
I think I we're just gonna get small cards (business card size) printed up and lay them on the plates at the table so when the guests sit down they see them. Or maybe small tent cards on the tables.

No, what we will be doing are mini cards made up from moo.com. You get 100 for $19.99. One side we plan on putting our e-pics and the other we'll put down what charity we're donating to. I got the idea from here if you wanna take a look
Way to listen to me hunnie! Love you!

Re: In lieu of donations...
we are doing a framed 'poster' type of announcement on the gift table. We are donating to the ASPCA so we put a short explanation of what the ASPCA does and why it's important to us and then we put a pic of my FH and I with our puppy Pixel

Re: In lieu of donations...
We did the big poster with the frame around it and put that on the table with the escort cards. I HATE when I go to a wedding and I have no place to put my purse because there are too many things on the table. So instead of making 250 cards, we just got the poster. I got it at Creations De Bella in Mineola...
I just discovered the I Do foundation... check them out... they are all about helping a couple incorporate charity into their wedding. I think there's something beautiful about starting out your wedding by giving back in some way... after all, we are all so fortunate to be able to live the lives we do in this country and have found someone we want to marry and be able to afford a wedding (of whatever scale). The I Do foundation site had so many ideas I never would have thought of!
