In Maui-Four Seasons or Grand Wailea?

If you have been to Maui or going there and you are staying at either of these resorts can you tell me how you went about choicing them. I'm about to book my honeymoon and really torn b/t which hotel in Maui to stay in Four Seasons or Grand Waliea.....

I am staying in the Four Season in Maui in four weeks so I can let you know then. But I know that they are next door to each other and both suppossed to be really nice. We chose the Four Season, because we know 5 other couples who stayed there and loved it!!

I am staying at the Grand Wailea Starting Oct. 28th. I wrote how I picked that over 4 Seasons in your previous post. I can give you my review when I get back.

Lauren-you are the bride who will be in Kauai when I am there right? I will be there for three days in the first week in November.

I've stayed at the Four Seasons Kauai and it was so unbelievable I was actually crying having breakfast the day we left! I don't know if the others are as wonderful, but Kauai was a dream.

No oahu for me. I went to Hawaii for my hs graduation trip (many moons ago it seems) and we spent most of our time on Oahu. Maui definitely gave me more of the Hawaii feel but only spent 3 days there. I can't wait to go back to Maui. FI kind of wanted to go there because of Pearl Harbor, but I think I talked him out of it. I did that when I went in hs and feel asleep. I figure if he really wants to go we can do some kind of day trip.

I stayed at a Sheridan there (not sure which one) and wouldn't recommend it. It was a normal hotel on the strip..Burger King across the street. Fine for HS kids to go cheaply but not a honeymoon place. I hear there are some pretty places to go for a honeymoon.

4 Seasons, 4 Seasons!! sorry to be so emphatic, but we LOVED it!! the Grand Wailea is definitely beautiful, and I am sure that you can't go wrong there, but once we were there, we were glad that we picked the Four Seasons over the Grand Wailea. We liked the smaller scale, and the personal attention and service they have there is like nothing i have ever experienced! (and probably won't again for a while)
So good luck, you will enjoy whichever you pick I'm sure.....oh, and eat at Nicks Fishmarket at the Hotel kea lani....awesome!!

Bride to be, yup, we will be in Kauaii Nov 4-9th.

JuneBride21 - On the question of Oahu I have a strong recommendation -- the Halekulani. That was our favorite hotel on the honeymoon.

I also stayed at the Hyatt on Kuaui, and the Four Seasons in Maui which was very nice. I don't think you can pick wrong between the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons. They share a beach, and both have excellent service.

Grand Wailea! We stayed there for our honeymoon and we absolutely adored it! They treated us spectacularly and it was perfect! I never wanted to leave! We also stayed at the Halekulani on Oahu (gorgeous!) and the Four Seasons on Hawaii (Big Island) - also gorgeous! I'm so jealous of all of you on your way there!!!

I just wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions and opinions. My fiance and I decided that we are going to be staying at the Grand Wailea and in Oahu, the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Alai 'i Tower.

bridetobe: what hs did you go to??? i went to hawaii for my hs trip also.....& i believe we stayed at the sheraton...
