I'm getting married on 10/17/2009 at the Crescent Beach Club and so far I only have the following:
1 - RH 2 - Officiants (Rabbi and Pastor) 3 - DJ 4 - Save the Dates will be printed this week
I'm really struggling with deciding on a photographer/videographer. The Crescent gives a list of a bunch but I still can't decide. I had my heart set on Kenny Pang and we waited too long and he got booked.
Also I need to find hotels near the area for the guests. I'm also looking for a big suite the night before for myself and bridal party. I'm not from Long Island so this planning is extremely overwhelming for me cause I can't get out there every time to meet these vendors in person.
I would check out The Brides Review Board, you can probably do a search for the vendors your thinking about and read a review about them..
Good luck!

Re: In Need of Serious Help
Modernweddingphotography.tv by Denise Chastin!
I absolutely loved her pics and her album layout was by far the best from all that I had seen. She's also always on top of her game and has some really cool extras to offer like thank you cards, etc. I thought her price was pretty good. FM me if you want more details. I can send you the her price list.
I suggested her to another bride and they booked her :o)

Re: In Need of Serious Help
Hi,
I'm a Crescent Beach Club bride, too! We booked Paul Marino for photography. We really wanted someone with experience shooting on the beach and getting sunset shots. Paul also works out of Florida and has a great portfolio with beach shots.
There aren't too many hotels in the immediate area of the Crescent Beach Club. Some options would be Sheraton Four Points in Plainview, Fairview Marriot in Syosset, Hampton Inn in Garden City and Hilton in Westbury.
For a suite for you and your bridal party, you can check Glen Cove Mansion and Roslyn Claremont Hotel.

don't worry you have plenty of time left! Try to relax and take your time. Don't rush it because then you might end up going with someone that you don't love...

I would check out the Glen Cove Mansion, it's one of the closest to there and nice too!

Re: In Need of Serious Help
I'm a fellow Crescent bride as well. We booked our hotel block at The Four Points Sheraton Plainview. While it's only 15ish miles away it does take about a half hour to get to the CBC, but it was one of the closest and reasonably priced places. They also offer shuttle service to the CBC for a fee. Feel free to FM if you have additional questions.
