I've heard you must wash your hair the night before;
I've heard it doesn't matter;
and
I've heard that its the morning of.
Which is it?

It's easier to style hair if it's dirty. It stays better.

i think it depends on your hair type. i have fine, thin hair and if i wash it right before having it put up, it never stays. it's easier to work with when it's a little dirty.

You should ask the person that is styling your hair for your big day.

I think it all depends on your hair, I went to 2 trial with the person I booked, and the first time I washed it the day before and the second time I washed it the day of, and it made a huge difference. We decided that I should definitely wash it the morning of.

My hair is thin and fine. If I don't wash it the morning of, it will look greasy by the crown. I have always washed my hair the same day I have up-dos done and have never had a problem. I'm doing the same for my half-up half-down style.

Same here!!! I would have to wash my hair that morning, otherwise it will be oily and flat as sin.

I guess they will have to use a lot of extra product for me because I HAVE to wash my hair that morning. I somehow feel gross all day if I don't wash my hair, even if I shower. And I don't want to feel like that on my wedding day!

Dirrrrrrty.
The alcohol from the hair spray will help dry up any oil hat you may have (Lord knows they use enough of it!) and being a day old helps it hold any heat styling. At least on me it does and my hair if fine and limp.

Well.. what do you ladies consider 'dirty'?? If you wash your hair like at 9:30pm and have a hair appointment for, lets say.. 8:30am.. How dirty can it get??? is there really that much of a difference??
As for me.. I always have to wash my hair when I shower- which is everyday. I'm taking a shower the morning of so I can feel fresher... I'm PARANOID!!!! I'm also getting married in the summer so any ounce of sweat when I wake up I will FREAK OUT!!

The last up-do I got they had stuff to put in my hair to 'dirty it up' It was some sort of powdery stuff, not sure of the name.

What worked well for me for my hair trial was to wash the day before but not condition, and then NOT wash the day of. My hair is very soft and fine so I need to do this in order for the style to stay.

Me too, I'm used to washing it every a.m. Even though I know it will look better if I don't.

The girl doing my hair, a LIW vendor, told me it really doesn't matter, perhaps some stylists don't want their customers coming in w/ wet/damp hair.
