In response to Flaca's answer on another post...how did FI propose?
My sweetie chartered a helicopter tour of the city. He planned that we flew over certain places, all of which has little messages waiting on big signs. When we got to the end, there were candles waiting on a table with flowers and he dropped and asked. I cried and cried and the helipilot was there taking a movie of the whole thing. It was so romantic.

We went to Atlantic City (believe it or not in the 8 years we were dating we had never gone away completely alone!)... earlier in the day I had bought a few 'Angel Cheeks' statues at the gift shop... Later that night I came out of the bathroom in the hotel room and noticed an angel sitting on the night stand. I started to ask why he took it out and then realized that it was a little 'engagement' angel... I started to cry and then he asked... he had the ring in the angels lap... We were both so emotional I had to ask him if I could see it!!!

Summer of 03, we went to Italy and Greece (we both have family there and go there every other summer).. We were at a restaurant in Italy with my family and he proposed..
It was during the second course. We had taken a break and went for a walk.. there was a wedding going on while we were there... so we were watching the bride and groom cut their cake. We went back inside and there was a plate in front of where I was sitting. My aunt had put another plate on top of it so that the 'food' would not get cold. I was actually whining to FH that I was full and didn't want to eat. I lifted the plate and there was my ring. I was in total shock.. I covered the plate right away and looked at FH with disbelief. He uncovered it and proposed in front of my family. It was the best feeling in the world.. I was on cloud 9.

Mine is a really long and sappy story. This is straight off of the 'How He Proposed' part of our website!!!
Pascale worked very hard to keep the proposal a secret. He held the ring for two months and never mentioned anything to me. On April 10th, 2004, the day before Easter, we decided to plan to celebrate Easter just the two of us. We agreed that we would go up to a shrine and exchange gifts and then go out for dinner. Pascale met me promptly at 3:00 pm and we headed up to the shrine. We arrived at the shrine and Pat handed me the huge bag and told me I could look inside. When I opened the bag, I saw a big, beautiful Easter basket filled with candy and a purse that I had been begging for. I asked him if I could open the basket and he said yes. I took the purse out and he said to look inside because there was more. I looked in and found a plastic Easter egg and opened it up and inside was my shiny engagement ring! I began to cry as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I was able to stop the tears from flowing I looked at him and said “Of Course” and today our dreams come true!

He proposed after we had dinner at Picasso at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. Of course, I almost blew it when earlier in the evening, I said that there wasn't anything that I liked on the menu...we wound up staying and had a really good dinner. After dinner, we went to the restaurant's outdoor terrace and were watching the dancing water show and then he proposed. He got down on his knee and the first words out of my mouth were...get the f*** out of here....something only I could pull off.

well i am witch in the sense that i think the fact that my FH went through with this proposal after my behavior that night shows true love. he proposed to me on V-day which i always thougth was a bit silly. what i had not none is that he had spoke to my dad, my dads parents and my parents were married on v-day and he thought it would nice to keep the tradition. Vday eveing we went to the same restauarnt that we have always gone to and I was a little annoyed because james never goes 'outside' the box. so i was a bit pissed. then the service sucked so i had to be a baby and complain. anyway as we were eating he started talking and the next thing i knew he took at the ring and got down on one knee. i was excited and embarressed i felt so bad that i was such a witch the whole night.

My FH proposed to me on the top deck of the Golden Princess cruise ship on May 26th. We were both looking out onto the horizon, when he said 'i want to ask you something' when i turned around he was already on one knee. I don't even know what he said, I was so stunned. He had convinced me that we weren't going to get engaged until the winter (which I was very disappointed). i thought for sure i was going to get a ring for christmas this year. It blew my mind, that he had actually smuggled a ring with him on the trip. I hadn't even dreamed it was going to happen then.
It was so perfect and wonderful, i still get the chills when i think about that moment.

At my favorite vineyard on the east end, Pugliese, right in front of their fountain. I won't get into how I almost didn't get proposed to when I stupidly asked on the LIE, 'You're not going to propose to me today, ARE you?' I really had no clue, but he'd asked me a few weeks prior where a good place to get engaged would be. Of course, I said Pugliese. Of course, he then felt stupid for asking because he would've come up with that himself he he'd thought about it for longer than 5 minutes. I really had no idea because I didn't think he'd gotten the ring--it's his great grandmother's and was at his grandmother's house in Westchester. So I thought I was just being funny, especially when we were sitting by the fountain and I hit his pocket and said, 'What? Do you have the ring in there or something?' I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

At a surprise 30th bday party he threw for me, with all of our family and some friends, after the cake, he had the owner of the restaurant bring out a banner that read 'Shandra, Will you Marry Me?'

We went for a carriage ride through Central Park, after that we walked towards the ice skating rink but it had just closed. So we sat on a bench near the water and were talking (and freezing - it was like 20 degrees out) then all of a sudden he takes a deep breath and gets down on one knee and says 'I was with you when you got your first gray hair and I want to be with you for your last' I ripped my glove off and cried 'YES!'
ETA: I was 20 and I got my 1st gray... no more since!

Michael proposed at the Christmas tree at EAB Plaza on December 12th. He snuck into an igloo and said 'Look what I found....' and he was on his knee with a beautiful, shiny and sparkling ring. I was so suprised! Awww.....I love him! I still think about that night. It was great!

Ok a little long.. also took it off my wedding website...... Sorry it is written in the third person... couldn't figure out a way to make it look like it was written by both of us!!!
After a little gentle persuasion (wink, wink) Stephen made plans to propose to Tricia. He chose the perfect weekend to propose and much to Tricia's dismay kept the secret very well. On July 23, 2004, the couple hopped in the car to join Tricia's family on a camping trip along the Delaware River in NJ. After a monsoon type rain almost sent them packing for home the weather cleared up and set the stage for a wonderful day of kayaking and wading in the river and for the proposal. Over dinner on Saturday night Stephen enlisted the help of Tricia's father to pop the question. He started a toast to the family and friends that were gathered together at which point Stephen jumped in to thank Tricia's family for making him feel like a member of the family... someone then yelled out 'You're not a member of the family yet!!'. Stephen then replied 'Well I was hoping that Tricia will make me a more permanent part of the family'. Tricia turns to swat Stephen for being so 'cheesy' to find him on the ground proposing!!!!!!!It was very romantic and very special that Tricia's family was involved and present!!!! Very thoughtful on Stephen's part!
