In what order do cake cutting, garter etc go in a reception?

In what order do cake cutting, garter etc go in a reception?

Could someone lay down the order of events as they normally happen?

I thought it would be....

dances with parents
cake cutting
spotlight dance
garter
bo-k?

Not sure....

Hmmm.......

I definately know it's dances with parents, bo-k toss than garter toss. I think ? Wow I have been to a ton of weddings and can't remember geez1

Not sure the 'right' order, but we are doing the parent dances after dinner, then a bit after that the cake, then the bouquet and garter toss... not sure what the spotlight dance is?

Usually the bo-k toss and garter thing is done after the cake cutting. This way there is something going on while the cake is being cut and served by the staff.

i'm pretty sure what u have is right with the expection of u and ur fh doing the ur first dance before the parents dance. also i think the cake cutting is the very last thing. so i'm thinking its:

u and fh dance
parents dance
bok toss
garter toss
cake cutting

i'm pretty sure what u have is right with the expection of u and ur fh doing the ur first dance before the parents dance. also i think the cake cutting is the very last thing. so i'm thinking its:

Thanks Tricia! Actually the spotlight dance is different than our 'first dance.' Our first dance is our wedding song- and then we invite our guests to dance with us. Then after cake, I guess, we'd have our own dance when it's just us...no one else on the dance floor, to a different song.

oh ok, i see. i never thuoght that. did u talk to ur martire d or dj? maybe they can help?

We did it differently

We did our first dance....cake cutting...bok toss...then parent dances.
