Include stepparent in reception introduction???

Can anyone with a stepparent chime in here? Did you have the stepparent introduced or just introduce the biological parents together?

If your parents still have agood relationship you could introduc them together, but if they have been separated for a while you may want to introduce them as So and So escorted by So and So.

That's what I'm doing with both my parents who have re-married. Good Luck, I know it's a sticky situation!!

Yup - my parents are both divorced and remarried - and this is exactly how we're doing it. Each parent set is getting their own entrance song too - just so everyone's equal

Also, when we set it up, our DJ told us that is how you traditionally announce remarried parents and their spouses. Just fyi, if you're looking to make a decision without offending anyone - etiquette books say that lady goes first. So, mom and husband is introduced at the reception, then dad and wife. Same goes for seating at ceremony. Mom is in first row with her family (behind BP if they're sitting, too), and Dad is in second row. Hope that helps.

Re: Include stepparent in reception introduction???

DH's mother and father are divorce...MIL had a boyfriend(who was a nice guy)..FIL not dating. so DH told his mom that she has to walk in with his dad, or dad won't have anyone..MIL said no way, it is boyfriend or nothing..DH said okay we will go with nothing..MIL called FIL to tell him what is going on, and try to convince him to tell DH that it is fine if MIL and boyfriend come in together..instead FIL got upset, told MIL she is selfish, and did not come to the wedding. So FIL did not come to wedding, and MIL's boyfriend is splitsville. The end. Do what you feel is right, if both parties have moved on then it shouldn't be a problem

Jeez! I was just gonna ask, what if they're not re-married but both have bf/gf?

Still introduce together or separate???
