Incorporating a lost loved one

Has anyone lost someone that they are still incorporating into their wedding some how?

I lost one of my best friends this past April and I want to honor her in some way since she was such a big part of my life. She past on April 29th and our wedding is April 27th so it will be very close to her one year.

Thanks in advance,
Kat

We will be honoring my father by having carnations which was his favorite flower, and my FH mother we will have something purple since her name was Violetta. Maybe you can think of things that your best friends loved or you guys shared together. depending how she passed maybe donating to a charity in her honor.

I have seen some girls on here who get like bouquet charms with a picture or name of a loved one.. they are really small and kind of tie on to the stems.. really sweet, meaningful and understated.

Some other ideas might be a memorial candle on a seperate table in the reception or a donation favor (for example toward a cause that mayb have led to her loss).

I'm honoring my mom (Rose) by incorporating roses and the color red, which was her favorite. We're also honoring FH's brother who died of Leukemia at the age of 4. We're going to have memorial candles at the church and a memorial table at the reception with the candles and pictures. My brother an I are also doing a dance in my moms honor.

We're doing favors in honor of my mom and FH's grandfather. We're going to have a memorial vase with fresh flowers and possibly some pictures. I'm also going to have a bouquet charm with my moms picture.

Bouquet Charms, Memory Candy, Putting her name in your program, putting a picture of you and her at your sign-in table.

My best guy friend actually passed away last year and I'm still having an extremely hard time dealing with it. I'm actually going to put a place card out on the table. Think what you want and I know it sounds morbid but it puts me at ease a little.

My older sister passed suddenly just 9 days before my younger sisters wedding....she kept her place at the table and put a white rose corsage with a charm with my sisters picture on her plate. I am going to do a memory table with pics and candles (also to include grandparents, my aunt, and fhs aunt as well...

Maybe you could find a way to wear something of her's? Perhaps jewelry, or you could pin something of hers into your bouquet or dress.

I am doing a bouquet charm for my mom. Since I will be holding the Bouquet it will be like she is right with me.

Not to mention the photographer will definitely capture a picture with the bouquet and charm and at least I will get a beautiful picture.

we are doing a memorial table for family members and loved ones that have passed on through out the years. Also maybe small picture pendants on the bouquet.

we had a floating memorial candle at the reception with the water dyed green and engraved with 'In Loving Memory'. Then we placed a collage frame next to it with some pictures of our loved ones who have passed and one opening had a poem in it.

My dad just passed away a few weeks ago unfortunately, came as a shock to all of us. I'm doing a couple things.

I ordered a bouquet charm w/ his pic in it from etsy, I ordered him a memorial candle from etsy which we will be lighting at the ceremony, I will be having a dedication to him in the back of our church programs, and I will have a memorial table set up at the reception hall w/ a picture of me and him and have his memorial candle lit.

I have one of those for my dad.
Since then my poppy and my dad's best friend, my 'uncle' both passed so I need another idea.

I am so sorry to hear this- I lost my dad back in 05 and it still hurts daily.
I so wish our dads could walk us down the aisle.

We are doing a memory table with pictures, I got a boquet charm with my grandmother's picture. My grandma's name was Gladys and we always called her Gladiola....so I'm going to have Gladiolus (the flower) in church during the ceremony.
