Indoor Air Quality

Has anyone ever had the air quality in their home tested? Can you tell me how you went about doing that?

ETA some details:
I have had some respiratory problems since I moved into this apartment. I believe that it has something to do with the air quality in here, so I wanted to have some testing done.
