Indoor ceremony sites (x-posted)

Indoor ceremony sites (x-posted)

Hey ladies,
My FH and I are starting to consider this November for our wedding. I know that the weather will not be good enough to utilize an outdoor ceremony site at a venue and I haven't really seen a venue that has an indoor area that really wows me. So my question is does anyone have suggestions of cool places to do a ceremony, maybe a museum or library, or just a cool building, preferably in eastern nassau or suffolk. No religious venues please.

Thanks so much!

It's not eastern Nassau, and I'm not sure how much it costs, but the Nassau Museum of Art has weddings. I imagine it HAS to be beautiful, with all the beautiful art and architecture!

Otherwise, try one of the Lessings mansions. I always find that the mansions have beautiful architecture and high ceilings.

i would also try fox hollow. that's where we would have had ours if it was in the late fall/ winter months.

This!

Fox Hollow is the only place I saw where I LOVED their indoor ceremony area. They have vaulted ceilings with windows to give an outdoor vibe. I will be getting married indoors because otherwise I would stress out over the weather.

Do you already have a reception site?

If not... I definitely agree with sgf2 on the Lessings Mansions!! I may be a little partial since I'm also getting married there but they have so many different sites definitely check them out!

If you already have a reception venue... see if they have an indoor space you could utilize?

I don't have a reception site yet but I think the search is just about over, just have to wait for FH to not be working a weird shift to get him over there. I've asked to see all of the indoor options and most places just seem to do it in the ballroom with a partition hiding the tables, and I was hoping for something with a bit more of a wow factor.

I checked out the Mansion at Timber Point and I've been to Fox Hollow and they just weren't 'the one.' I was hoping for a separate ceremony site from the venue if were going to be doing November and not able to do an outdoor ceremony.

It's not eastern Suffolk, but Floral Terrace has a beautiful indoor ceremony site in a completely different area/floor from the main ballroom. Check it out I'm a little bias though!

i feel like you could ask any RH with more than one wedding at a time to let you use other spaces for the ceremony and write it into your contract. especially if you are flexible with your start times.

Now I'm wondering about if it rains -- now that larkfield is doing renovations, the larger room has 2 cocktail rooms connected. one will have huge windows and an 'outside' feel. check out the website. i wonder if they would work something out with all the new 'spaces'-- I'm going to ask them in case it rains on our day! Not sure if you will like it as it does/ will have a feel similar to fox hollow once it is complete. check out the website!

I'm actually checking Larkfield out tonight but I'm definitely going to ask about using other spaces there for the ceremony now. Thank you for the advice!
