Anyone know where I can purchase a set from, besides Ebay? I looked at Michaels and didnt see anything I really liked, any suggestions?

Re: inexpensive unity candle
You could just purchase some candles from the dollar store and using a hot glue gun, lace, ribbons, buttons, flowers, etc from a craft store make your unity candle. Or get a crafty friend to help you!
This way you could even make it match your bridesmades!

Re: inexpensive unity candle
I felt the same way. I saw so many unity candles in magazines and they were so expensive. So I bought the candelabra from a magazine but I made the candles myself. I just got 2 white tapers (99 cents each) and a large plain white candle at a craft store (5.99). I bought a nice sheer w/ stripe design ribbon in 2 sizes (skinnier ribbon for the tapers and wider for the large candle. I tied them around tightly, didn't even need glue. They look great and I didn't have to spend a fortune! If you want to see pics let me know and I will post later. Good luck!

Re: inexpensive unity candle
We just got a plain white pillar candle from Michaels for $2 and two plain white taper candles from michaels for $1 each and we are going to add ribbon to match the favors and the girls dresses. SOOOOO much better than the $40 unity candles that Ive seen.

I found a very pretty one at Party City. 3 piece set for $18. It is white with pretty light colored flowers embossed on it.

Re: inexpensive unity candle
I didn't really like most of the unity candles out there with the lace and the 'sayings' in them, so I just got really nice candles from Illuminations- they were ivory candles that were hand rolled in sparkles. I got 2 tapers and one big pillar and plain crystal holders

Re: inexpensive unity candle
we used the lenox one from fortunoff's - i don't remember how much it was though - but it couldn't have been too much! - its very plain and simple - we then lent the holder/bottom part to a friend for her wedding and have since decided to do so for any friends or family who want to do it so now its more of a communal candle which holds special meaning to us!!!
i think there was a post with it not too long ago if you do a search!
